Games that reached you emotionally

I'm just curious what was the last game that reached you emotionally. Whether it be sad, happy, scared etc.

My moment was unique.

In Chrono Trigger I felt so mad Glenn (Frog) was destined to wield the Masamune. I wanted Chrono to be the one. I felt a connection to Chrono but not so much Frog because with Chrono I inserted my personality into him.
Call me selfish.

Anyways don't be afraid to mention any tear jerking. I'll admit that FFVII scene had me going too, EVEN w/ the fact i knew it was.

well I think that Marcus was a deeper character than the game showed and I enjoy watching his redemption at the end.

Odin Sphere's been doing alright for me on the emotional response part. You can really feel the characters. Though I go for Japanese + Sub, since the English actors are kinda cheesy.

The only game that I ever felt something different that wasn't an rpg was Medal Of Honor Rising Sun. Something about the action that was going on just got to me. I guess part of it was the fact that it's all real, it happened. I'm pretty much just talking about the beginning stage on Pearl Harbor. I don't know if anyone relates or not but not many Fps games really portray the actual horror any ordinary person would feel. But in this game seeing the Japanese bomber swoop by and kill innocent people and seeing how surprised and horrified everyone around was really got to me somehow. Not too many FPS games or even other genres do that at all. I guess this goes to show it takes a lot more skill to do that in an fps than in an rpg. :arrow: But to do it at all is a great feat in itself.

Lol, by the way I just realized how my user name and Topic don't fit too well together. Anyways I remember once while playing Halo Pc at the moment you reach the escape pod in the beginning of the game there was this one soldier who trips and mutters I don't want to die but the the chief picks him up and throws him into the pod and they take off. I just felt a lot of sympathy for the soldier after how he was just saved and he had hope that he would live that soon after he just dies in the crash. Poor dude..even though he would probably get stuck by an elite anyways

Quite possibly the ONLY games I've ever given a shit about the story or characters are the Metal Gear Solid games mainly because they lend themselves to a more cinematic experience, and really the only one that did much for me was MGS4, and only one cutscene in particular. The other ones I just followed along and didn't really care, just because at times the acting and scenarios were so laughable.

Any other time, I'm pretty much just like "Oh, Aeris died, glad I didn't waste my time leveling her up" or "Garcian Smith is fucked in the head, whodathunkit?". Don't get me wrong, I love the games I just cited, but I'd be kidding myself if I said any games really had that much emotional impact on me.

When I was younger, I felt very attached to the characters in Paper Mario and my team in Star Fox 64. Good thing nobody died in those games, but when Slippy got kidnapped I actually felt anger. Slippy sucks, I know, but still... he's family...
