went to my friends gender reveal party this past weekend
the story behind donkey kong was that he kept falling off the cake and the dragon wouldn't let him back on, and he was all arrrrrg! and then that dragon was all arrrrg! and then they were all arrrrg!
A gender reveal party is a thing? Those photos are wonderful
yeah, i've only heard of it this year. Where you find out it's a boy or girl and have a party for it. just another excuse to have a cute themed get together...and i'm all down for it! my friends step dad kept calling it a sex party, lol. "yeah, i'm going to my sons sex party for the new baby," it was priceless

Took this at the weekend (linked below to save anybody throwing a hissy). Cosplayer and Dtoider ai-honey (no, you've probably never heard of her, she doesn't use the forums; you may have seen her on the front page when her Borderlands-themed music video was posted) got all dressed up as Mai Shiranui and we went and took photos. Said photos have been picked up by 'Sexy Cosplay Girls' (yes, you may facepalm), scgofficial.com, and one has been chosen to be sold as a poster at the London Film & Comic Convention this weekend.
Don't want this to come across as an ad, I'm more just hyped that it's proving so popular. Gotten over 1,700 likes across all the pages it's been shared on, which is way more than any digital picture I've taken before. I'm under no illusion as to why it's popular, but I'm happy nonetheless.
So yes, arty types, look away now. Game nerds who like pretty ladies, CLICK.
Bit gutted though, to make it into a print I was asked to send a file for A3 at 300DPI CYMK, when of course the camera takes photos at 240DPI sRGB. Enlarging means more noise and some colour run. I've got the nice, crisp, clear file sat here and can do nowt with it. Annoying. Also the amount of people who assume it's a big Photoshop job are annoying me, too. All I did was straighten it out and do some sharpening/noise reduction, but welp. Apparently the idea of using lights and modifiers is an alien concept to many.
Also, the weekend before I took my 1978 Canon A-1 (the very first one to be sold outside of Japan, I'll have you know) and a couple of rolls of 400ASA B&W film along to Rezzed and took some pictures of the show floor and Dtoiders who turned up (and Rami Ismail of Vlambeer, who's essentially the DtoidEU mascot at this point). 400's really not fast enough for show light, so I had to work with 1/15th and f/1.8 and even then, had to push them about another stop during processing.
Some of them are terrible, some are alright, some are quite good because they're so terrible. Some are boring and some make no sense. Again, CLICK.
I wish I was that pretty ):
Yeah, Rami is quite a stunner.
sweet! i wanna do a cosplay shoot!
so i photographed my bro in laws wedding last weekend, and i didn't wear my usual black shirt and pants outfit that i wear when i'm a photographer at any event. instead i was wearing a yellow dress and cowboy boots to match the them of the wedding and it was a simple one so i wasn't worried about rolling around on the ground or anything like that. and so of course we are running soooo very behind schedule and i'm trying to rush through these pictures as fast as i can. so apparently, the brides aunt was trying to look over my shoulder and tell me i didn't know what i was doing. i wanted to do photos in front of this pretty looking barn but the sun was shining some harsh, patchy light on it which i knew i could get away with for a little bit but i had another spot picked out for other photos. so yeah, she was all "the flower girls are squinting" and shit, but it only was her ugly kid that was closing her eyes and everyone else, even the other flower girl's eye we just fine. i tell her that everything is fine and just leave me alone. so we walks away all pissy because i wasn't gonna take those pictures over for her nasty kid and thats when she went off about how i didn't know what i was doing, blah blah blah under her breath. then i could see her talking to the bride about me because she keeps pointing and looking at me. anyways, of course my photos look awesome and usual and i showed the family and they all loved them too. what was funny to be was that during the reception, she was running around with her camera with the built in flash constantly going and apparently her camera is so old that is can't read memory card that is over 2gbs, lol. also, there were 2 more other people that either we friends or family of the bride and groom that offer to take pictures for them, but i'm glad they choose me. i can't wait to hear how awful my photos were from that hefer that kept trying to talk shit about me. i already got praise from both sides of the family so let just see what her deal is.
Took this in Hamburg the other day, was originally just taking photos of the general area and then GAY NATURE HAPPENED!
So, I lived in Honolulu most of my life. Now I live in Florida. Last time I was home I went on a hike in a nearby valley. At the top of a ridge I took this picture. That is the H3, an elevated freeway that travels up the valley and tunnels through a mountain range.
sucks when there's traffic on that bitch
finally got some nice sparkler/light writing pics
more pics of the offspring!
at the studio I work at. took some vday pics of my kids with some soft lighting
then the next day just whatever on the high-key
Something I took near the Kinkakuji Temple in Kyoto during the snow (2 - 3 years back when I was in Japan)
Wow, very pretty!
