Could 'The Simpsons Arcade' for Live Arcade be a possibility

    Just a thought really.

Considering TMNT 1989 was released on Live arcade as a bit of promotion for the upcoming film/game and from all accounts is doing pretty well, do you reckon we'll get a port of the Simpsons coin-op coming to live? Maybe to coincide with the Simpsons movie due out this year (I think).

They are both Konami games after all.

    Makes sense to me.

    Hells yes!

I spent at least $20 in quarters on it, definitely arcade gaming at its best.

That would be AWESOME!!! Such a perfect game for Xbox Live. I still dump a few quarters into that machine whenever I see it at an arcade

Not only would it be sweet, but I'd bet it would be quite the seller on Xbox Live. Everybody played/loved this game back in the day. All the local pool halls had one on tap.

TMNT and the recent article on the blog has got me excited for any old school beat 'em ups on XBLA.

Simpsons would definitely be one of my top choices though (along with Turtles in Time and Final Fight.)

I have a feeling the Simpsons game would take a lot of money paid to the license holders to get rereleased. But with the movie coming out, who knows? If TMNT does really well on XBLA, someone might shell out for it.

I'd rather see the two D&D Capcom brawlers rereleased myself.

That's exactly the reason it won't come out. If you watched the ScrewAttack vid, they couldn't even show footage of the game because of IP laws. Harsh. Good luck with a full scale XBLA remake.

Well consider it. the old TMNT Arcade game came out a week before the TMNT movie, right? I would have preferred Turtles in Time, but you can't have it all.

Now in July, the Simpsons Movie is being released. Regardless of the fact that everyone and their mother's dog knows The Simpsons, that would be the best, and most logical time to release it. Pour some more sweet, sweet hype on the machine.

    Oh well, here's hoping.

I remember going on a cruise to Bermuda and when the weather was terrible out one night and there were no events going on I went to the arcade on ship and played this and beat it with like 4 different boys. Made a lot of friends on that trip just because of that game lol.

I can see it as being a great release title for XBL.

Just beat it (it was a MAME rom...using my Wiimote!) and it's quite a game. Weird that it doesn't follow the general formalities of the Simpsons characters i.e. Smithers is a bomb-wielding maniac and commits suicide by blowing himself up.

Hell yah, I would buy that in an instant if it came out on XBLA

So many hours spent playing that game when I was a kid

I'd rather see Turtles in Time first. Loved that game with a passion
