How to get Systemshock 2 running on Windows Xp?

I really want to play it. I already installed the official patch and the inofficila Windows 2000/xp patch. After the intro ther´s an error that says:
"Error: Direct3d device driver does not accurately report textzr memory usage. Contact your 3d accelerator vendor for update drivers."

Please help me.

have you tried running it in windows 98 compatibility mode? or maybe windows 2000?

that worked for me after I installed the patches.

to do it, right click on the exe, go to properties, then click on compatiblity tab, then check compatibility mode and set it to 98 or 2000

Hmmm on your Link there´s only a Download for Sshock 2 and some mods for it.

After some time googeling I found a solution.

1. Install Offical Patch:

http://www.hollowbomb.com/html/sshock2/shkpatch.exe

2. Add The Windows XP Fixx:

http://www.hollowbomb.com/html/sshoc...p_2000_fix.zip

3. Do this:

You will need to edit the shock.cfg file in the System Shock 2 folder on the hard drive. Open the shock.cfg file with notepad, and add the text "safe_texture_manager" on a line of its own. This change will become active when the file is saved.

I´m gonna try it when I´m home, I hope this will fix it.
