    MERCENARY KINGS [by Tribute Games]

    Reveal trailer:

    Early Access Trailer:

This shit looks amazing. It's obviously an homage to Metal Slug but they seem to have added their own flair to it. Here's some facts:

    - all art and animation is done by the incredible Paul Robertson.
    - there are hundreds of different weapons due to a robust weapon crafting system.
    - it will have online multiplayer.
    - it looks really, really, really cool.

Aside from Dragon's Crown and GTA5, this is the only game I find myself giving an "I MUST BUY THIS" legitimate fuck about.

I had to steal that second image for the original post, Legend. I hope that's okay. It's too good.

I played this at PAX East, so fucking awesome for a 10 minute demo. The level design really works in a great way too; each level has objectives in different directions, offering players to explore in any way they see fit. That way, you and three of your buddies aren't all running and gunning in the same direction fighting for the same loot.

This game makes me want to do laundry. As in, bring all my laundry to a laundromat, and bring plenty of extra quarters to waste on Metal Slug.

It seems like it wants to be Metal Slug meets Mega Man.

And I have zero problems with this idea.

The gun and knife crafting aspect is what has me the most excited.

Shit is out on Steam right now.
It's fucking fun. It's like Megaman meets Metal Slug at Castlevania's house.

Seems to be. I haven't tried it out yet - I don't think too many people are on right now, which is a horrible thing. This game is the new Castle Crashers. Calling that shit right fucking now.

We'll have to play sometime soon Legend, I caved and bought it today.

EDIT: I can't even run the game, lol. I send them a few emails and tried re-installing it but no dice. FUCK! Oh well, I knew the risks. Hopefully they get it sorted out soon and I can play.

    Still feel kinda burned

People on Kotaku were really bitching about the female characters sexualized design, while praising Pauls work. I laughed my ass off.

Lol, they should look at his stuff on his website. I personally think the female character is mainly cool, with some sexiness on the side. It's not like she's a Dead or Alive sex doll.
