Rezzed: Birmingham

Rezzed is now happening in Birmingham (June 22-23) this year instead of Brighton. Last year was really fun, the place has a nice feel, a good size crowd without being overbearing in it's sweatiness. Easier to try out more games too.

There was an after party in a cocktail bar and I had ice cream so...THERE! I also happend to get the best swag out of Gamescom and Eurogamer from Rezzed.

Plus we saw Peter Molyneux talk about his favourite games, you know like that game called Nintendo.

Tickets are £9 per day or £15 for weekend pass.

Anyway just wondering if any folks from here are going this year? If there's decent crowd might be worth getting hostel overnight and heading out later.

I wouldn't hostel because Leicester. Will go. May be able to offer a sofa for a money challenged scrub, will need to check dates. If I could convince my flatmate that she will want to go away that weekend perhaps more could cover my living room floor.

Leicester/Birmingham trains are like You can get there and back for like £10-15 and trains are regular but take 50-60 minutes, with an extra ~10 minutes for getting to Birmingham International. Likely cheaper by coach but would be shittier and take longer.

I kind of want to go to this just because it's so close to home. But I'm definitely going to gamescom and Eurogamer so I'm not sure I can afford another one, even if it is only £15. We shall see.

Also, the NEC isn't exactly in Birmingham, it's more or less next door to the airport. Might be worth considering for anyone planning on getting a hostel.

I agree with thyme. One big pain in the arse with the NEC or it's Arena is getting out after an event, so anyone that is travelling and maybe staying in the city centre or nearby needs to consider leaving time to get public transport back to wherever you maybe staying.

It's closer to Birmingham airport, so in terms of transport from London that's quite handy to reach. As the train/buses stop there en route.
