Love Killzone 3. Probably one of the best-looking console shooters out there.

This looks absolutely sick. Can't wait to play this and see what Guerrilla Games can do with next-gen hardware.

Oh hey, same shit with slightly better graphics. That's cool, next gen.

That's next gen rope? You ought to be ashamed of yourselves, video games.

Sixteen times the amount of ram, substantially faster processors, and a vastly more conventional architecture are surely more impressive in person than that steam let on. And I thought the steam looked incredible.

I'm more intrigued by the story components. Are the Helghast now terrorists/guerrilla remnants? They're pretty much like Palestinians forced to live on the ISA homeworld after the conclusion of Killzone 3.

Looks like a brighter version of the Killzone 2 trailer to me, only the game will probably actually look like this when it hits. Slightly better than current gen, but not astoundingly so. Lots of stuff working in the background to give you an experience not unlike the one you already have, only slightly purdier.

I'm not talking about whatever else the system may or may not promise, I'm talking about shooting shit in a derivative shooter like this.

It's no Aliens: Colonial Marines, I'll give you that.

I like the look of it, I wouldn't turn down a slightly prettier next-gen shooter. That said I agree with the sentiment of what you said, it's not the most interesting thing they could do with the PS4.

I think that we're overlooking the million fuckton particles that they managed to cram onto the screen without a second of slowdown (provided that this is actual gameplay). The PS3 and 360 can't run Zone of the Enders 2 with its modest amount of particles without taking a nosedive on the framerate, and that was a PS2 game (hell, they actually had to scale down the particles for the HD port, and these consoles still struggle with rendering them). If the demonstration was indeed gameplay, then it's an incredible leap of performance over its predecessors to have so much shit on screen at once.

    Plebs.

This is Sony and Killzone, I highly doubt it's really truly actually gameplay.

I just did a quick search to try to get more information on it, and they're going to have Jimmy Fallon live-demo it tonight, so it looks to be actual gameplay.

Sheeeeit, Jimmy himself is pre-rendered. That's a known fact.

    WHAT?! SINCE WHEN?!

Also, someone mentioned in the PS4 thread that these screenshots lack any aliasing (jagged edges) whatsoever.

The official Killzone Twitter says "It's planet Vekta! It takes place a couple of decades after the events of Killzone 3."
    So...?

A couple decades? Good, maybe Rico's dead.

And there's no denying the graphics are damn fine (for the same reasons Rev pointed out). So assuming the gameplay is still Killzone 3-quality I'm excited for it.

Not a system seller for me, though. (Not that any one thing is these days.)

God I hope Rico is dead. He'll probably be the president or something.
He leaned on the red button and accidentally saved everyone.

Hope Visari's daughter makes an appearance then as a new villain.
