New Dinosaur FPS Game Announced! Coming to Steam Q1 2013

    Hey guys,

I just wanted to quickly introduce myself and show a little something we have been working on. My name is David Prassel. I am the founder of a relatively new indie developer called Spiral. You may or may not have heard of us from last year when we went and released our first game ('ORION: Dino Beatdown') to... well, horrible acclaim. It was plagued with bugs, lack of content and things both in and out of our control and in short it went very very badly.

    WHAT HAPPENED AFTERWARDS?
Since it's original release on May 4th we put out quite a few patches totally in hundreds and hundreds of changes that addressed issues and added new content and mechanics. On top of that we put out a free Title Update back in September which added 5 new guns, new maps, new game mode and everything in between.

THE GIFT WE HAVE BEEN WORKING ON FOR NEARLY A YEAR
Since then we have been extremely quiet. When we are quiet we are very busy. When we are very busy we attempt to make very cool things. This is by far the coolest thing we have ever created and we couldn't be more excited and proud to share it with you. We are announcing a brand new game that we have been secretly working on for the last 6 months and it's the spiritual sequel to Dino Beatdown. It's an entirely new game and it's called 'ORION: Dino Beatdown - JURASSIC EDITION'.

This is our gift and digital love letter to all that stood by and supported us during one of our hardest and most trying times. Thank you.

    FREE UPGRADE FOR ORIGINAL OWNERS!
If you are an owner of ‘ORION: Dino Beatdown’ you will be upgrading to the ‘Jurassic Edition’ (AKA Dino Beatdown 2) for FREE. This shouldn't even be a question on anyone’s mind and we are extremely sorry about falling short on our first release and the problems you may have experienced.

    ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER:

    SO WHAT’S NEW?

When I saw the words "Dinosaur FPS," I was really expecting player-controlled dinosaurs to be fucking shit up in a first person perspective.

I feel misled and taken advantage of. I'm very vulnerable right now.

Nah, the one i had was The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Some side scroller where you were a dinosaur.

I remember a side scroller being a dinosaur too. Not sure if I enjoyed it.

If you make a good product, I'll buy the shit out of it. WE NEED MORE DINOSAURS IN GAMING!

Edit- This looks stupid fun. Just watched the trailer. So if I buy the original now, would I still get this upgrade for free? I don't really care if the originals not super fun, I played Jurassic The Hunted and had a blast, so I'm sure I'll find fun here. Just wondering though. Don't want to blow $10 now and find out I have to fork over more later.

    This.

In games, or playing games, I don't mind. Just need more of them. I wish Capcom hadn't gone loco with Dino Crisis 3 aswell, loved that series till they decided to jump the shark.

Yes! If you buy it now you will automatically upgrade to the new Jurassic Edition for $9.99 instead of the new, unannounced higher price tag.

SWEET. Good to know. I'll pick that up soon. The sci-fi shall be a good offset to Dino D-Day. Your game has sp right? Not just DM and other modes with bots? Like you folks have a horde/survivor mode? That's my biggest beef with Dino D-Day.

While the 'Dino Beatdown' series of ORION is largely Multiplayer / Cooperative focused, 'ORION: Dino Beatdown - JURASSIC EDITION' will continue to offer Offline / Solo play with the proper modes including Survival 2.0 which is your Horde / Survival, wave-based game mode where you must complete mission objectives and survive the onslaught of Dinosaurs.

We are launching with 5 modes (compared to 1 in the original) and we will be talking about the 4 other modes very soon. They are VERY exciting
