Are you guys actually grinding (as in mindlessly hacking away at enemies at random to gain levels) or just doing the sidequests? The latter, for me. Quite a few left open at the moment and still keeping me proper leveled.

Also lots of doting over how amazing the game is and stuff.

I did some grinding killing tokos. 2000 experience a pop? Metal Slime much. Except easier.

Dang. Might have to do that. Think I'm right before they appear. (Am outside skull mountain)

I am grinding and doing all the errands/bounty hunts I can.

I didn't get to play yesterday at all, so as soon as I get home from work, I am playing this game until I am forced to go to bed.

I haven't done any pure grinding yet, but you do a lot of fighting through sidequests and exploration, so.

I will grind in dungeons if my characters/familiars are close to a level up, or if my familiar is close to getting a new skill.

Damnit, I can't wait to get home and play.

I'll do that every once in awhile.

Or say when I know a particular kind of monster with a specific kind of livability will be useful in the next area. I spend twenty minutes trying to catch a little bighorn in the volcano, since it has a resistance to all physical attacks.

I caught one of those, never touched it after making it a bighorn. Maybe later.

    Mine finally arrived yesterday:

I'll probably start it next week if I can plow through XenoBlade. I'm 20 hours in Xeno, anyone know how long that guy is?

Man, so I thought I was grinding before? Ha, now I just got the whole metamorphosis shit, and now that my familiars go back to level one, I really, REALLY have to grind now to get them back up to a fighting chance in hell of surviving.

Get the boat, be around level 26-30. Small island north of summerlands, has mites, seed sprites and those monkeys in it. And tokos. Kill tokos. They can be in a party with the other monsters or show up by themselves. 2k a pop.

But kill them fast. They run away. And take 14k to go from level 1 to level 2. I caught one. Never touched it.

Oliver is at level 22 or 23, and I just got to Castaway Cove. Last thing I did was fight Al-Khemi. Is the ship I'm going to get here for my own personal use?

    Sweet!

So, what are some of the familiars I should be acquiring for my party? I've just been grabbing all I can, and if they're a favored genus, I add them to their respective character. Otherwise I just add them to the bank.

    Bonehead, purrloiner, buncher.

Seriously, the buncher takes forever to level, but it's CRAZY strong.

And don't forget the seed sprite you got. It can be a great healer.

Right on, I have all of those already, but not in my party atm. I'll do some rearranging tonight.

Xeno is like 40-60? Or was Last Story 30-40? I forget. Just picked up the latter, actually, though won't be playing any time soon. Wanted to make sure I didn't miss out. Which I seem to have with Xenoblade ):

Haven't played Ni no Kuni in like three days. Lame.

Purrloiner is my main. Replaced the derpy starting guy. Named Sakamoto.

Didn't know Buncher was good. Maybe I'll throw one in circulation. I got one of those upright desert cats named Top Cat. It's pretty badass though it took it a while to catch up. The other story ones you get, the fat penguin (Esther's) and the lemur thing you get at Ding Dong Dell from the pothead are also pretty good.

Purrloiner and the smug looking desert cat are pretty much the only ones that I use regularly that weren't story-given, I suppose.
