I really hope the depth and quality of the combat mechanics are improved over LC, which was already far ahead of the gameplay in NMH... If that's the case, the gameplay in a Suda game might match the massive charm and aesthetics.

For some reason, the simplistic combat of the NMH games doesn't really bother me. Well, in the second it has a little more depth, but it's still nothing compared to something like Bayonetta.

Maybe it's because tearing through enemies is so much fun. You usually don't spend long on a single enemy, and I never get bored of the sight and sound of beam katana cutting through flesh, and people exploding as they cry out for their mothers. Travis's frequent wise-cracks add a lot to it too.

I'm expecting Killer is Dead to be in that area of complexity, so as long as it keeps the pacing and kinaesthetic qualities of the NMH games I'll be fine. I'm guessing it'll be a bit more nuanced though. What we've heard so far seems to indicate that, but I'm still not expecting it to rival the works of Platinum.

I actually found Lollipop Chainsaw's gameplay dull in comparisons to No More Heroes. I just didn't have fun playing it at all.

On the other hand, I'm really looking forward to this games. Looks like some kind of NMH/Shadows of the Damned hybrid, and I loved both those games.

As if a Suda51 game with a title linking it to killer7 wasn't enough to sell it to anyone in my opinion, the amazing trailer with the Symphony from the New World in it virtually has me salivating.

Getting a lot of Mistral (from Metal Gear Rising) vibes from that picture of Vivian.

Suda really seems to have a thing for tigers. Magical tigers in particular.

Fuck me, that looks amazing! Can't wait to get my hands on it. I love the look of the HUD too. I get the feeling that the trailer might have given away a spoiler though. Naming all those characters saying "[blank] is dead" makes me wonder, perhaps the "killer", i.e Mondo, dies too.

I took some screenshots from the trailer too. I think they make pretty good wallpapers:

Grasshopper HUDs are a work of art. So are those screens you took. The second one is my wallpaper now
