If you send it through the "Friends List" app, it's silent and you only become friends if that person has also silently added you to their list.

If you go into Miiverse, tap your Mii, search for a user by profile name, and then send them a friend request that way, it works like normal and they get a notification with a friend request.

That was a nice surprise to me as well, there's a lot of nifty little features that I haven't seen before. Unfortunately none of the games I ordered came with the console, so all I have is Nintendoland for the weekend. It's...about what I expected, I guess. I probably won't be playing too much of it on my own.

Everyone needs to go to the RabbitsLand Miiverse thingy as well and draw more Willem Dafoe art.
