Though i wasnt alive in the 80's, most of the stuff i listen to is from the 70's and 80's so i'm pretty excited... thoughts?

Where's the Wu-Tang?
lol wu tang doesn't exactly start the guitar
The 80's? All I remember is Michael Jackson.
I'm not exactly an 80's Rock/Metal fan. I'd rather have punk...I'm more of a Hip-Hop fan.
the ramones were one of the biggest bands of the 80's and they were punk. for hip hop BEASTIE BOYS!
I didn't even think of the Beastie Boys! Winwinwin. As for the Ramones, also win. When did Sex Pistols come out? 70s?Originally Posted by Ph1dra
If they include a good amount of '80s pop music, I will be a happy man. '80s rock/metal is kind of lame if you ask me. It's all about Duran Duran, Flock of Seagulls, the Cure, and all those one-hit-wonders.
personally i cant wait for GNR, ACDC, Motley Crue, and i dunno depeache mode or something!
Sex Pistols:1975-1978, so they weren't even around in the 80's.
But if we are putting punk bands on our wish list, count me in on some Black Flag, Bad Religion, Descendents, Bad Brains, and Minor Threat. Think I'll get any of it? Doubtful, although we did get Suicidal Tendencies on GH2.
Great 80's I hope makes the game:
Metallica!(fat chance, greedy bastards)
AC/DC
More Randy Rhodes/Ozzy stuff
ANY 80'S HAIR METAL(I know, it's a given it will be on there, and most of those bands suck.....ok they all do. But you can not make a guitar game with nothing but 80's and not put in hair metal, it's in the 10 Commandments)
Bon Jovi's Livin On A Prayer
Tears for Fears
Oh yea, and Beat It by Michael Jackson. Great guitar riff, and a killer Eddie Van Halen solo
we need 70's for zeppelin sabbath and iron maiden.

There's so much great stuff that can do with this, but they really do need to keep it in line with straight up guitar riffs. You start messing around with synth parts and it might jump the shark (I'll let them slide with the Freezepop song in GHII).
I'm sure Quiet Riot's "Metal Health" is going to be on there somewhere -- it was definitely quietly hidden on the Guitar Hero II retail demo disc, but disappeared in the final build.
Or maybe it'll appear as DLC on Xbox Live...

As soon as I heard this, I immediately realized that this is my chance for playing Tears for Fears on Guitar Hero.
Please, God, make it happen.
The only thing better than that would be A-Ha's "Take on Me."
You can't mention Punk and not mention The New York Dolls. They influenced so many of the bands (punk with their music, 80's hair bands with their style) they should have gotten royalties.Originally Posted by MYL0R

Oh I agree, their influence can not be forgotten. But as you can see, the Dolls aren't really my style. The punk bands I mentioned are usually referred to as hardcore bands. Just not my style, but I do have to respect what they did.Originally Posted by Arrested Developer

They should totally put some Dead Kennedys on there. I'd love to jam to the solo from "Sister Christian", but there's too much piano solo to put it on GH.
Well, do you know who played the solo on "Beat It"? Eddie fucking Van Halen, that's who!!Originally Posted by elbartoqwertyuiop
