I like how he used Japans "liberal (cartoon) child porn laws" as a reason why the US and other "big countries" suck and why Japan is totes awesome.

    Classy.

Okay maybe he wasn't exactly saying it's a reason why Japan rules and America drools but it's still a weird thing to bring up.

Why the heck should another country try to force a smaller country to do as they want? Let Japan be and have their laws, and the US can have whatever laws they want. But the US (just like big countries in Europe) always try these things, they try to make the world "a better place" (read: they try to make it more American) by pushing smaller countries via mediums such as the UN or other organisations.

There's no scientific evidence (or any other kind of evidence for that matter) what-so-ever that cartoons can be harmful. In case you didn't know, this a heated debate in Japan even today, and much of the influence for that debate comes from other countries. Other countries want to force Japan to make sexual cartoons of children illegal simply because they don't like it, and that today's globalization means that lolicon is spreading outside of Japan.

Funny thing is that in Sweden, where the law actually states that cartoon children should be seen as the same as real children when it comes to porn, the supreme court ruled that cartoon children cannot be illegal as long as they look unrealistic. They said that the freedom of speech was more important than protecting real children from cartoon images. It's mostly the US that wants lolicon banned all over the world so that the world can adjust itself to US standards. That's how the US government thinks.

Of course, this won't happen as long as people have free will. I really love how the US is trying to "unite" the world so that everyone can live in harmony and be friends. Oh.... and.... whose laws should everyone follow? The US laws of course!

But Pokemon made little kids have seizures. Won't someone think about the children?
