Oh man, relief!

Hard Mode is so much easier playing as Leon.

I tried the stage with the Kraken babies while playing as Matilda and ended up wondering if it was even possible. Her moveset doesn't lend itself to taking out a ton of smaller enemies in a short period of time.

Or maybe I'm just not that good with her, I don't know. In any case I can see why they locked the initial story mode playthroughs to specific characters. Some of those levels are frustrating as hell when using the wrong person for the job. (this was also on Hard Mode btw)

Also, had something of a breakthrough this week and am presently able to seriously compete against rank 50s. It all kind of clicked together somehow and I went up ten ranks practically overnight. At around 40 now, will probably max out during the next FNF if not before.

I abused falling Y moves to death on that mission. Jump into a group and you can kill a few and jump out before they try to eat you (usually). I also abused the mess out of the ability to get items saved up before missions. Once the kraken was out I gunned it with a shield power up and turned on rampage mode once all 50 were down because that mutant is an asshole.

I like how quickly things can turn around in this game. When I started tonight I got matched up against some high level guys who had been playing together for a while. They were talking all dat psyche out talk, making jokes about people's usernames, you know the drill. They won against my team the first few times and celebrated loudly as you might expect. I laughed right along with them, which seemed to throw them off.

Then my team beat theirs 20-3, at which point they all got quiet. Then they got a narrow victory against the next group I was placed with, yet I still managed to outscore the victors based on individual performance. They left the lobby as I was typing this. Heh.

And the thing with the Kraken babies, I'm definitely going to play someone else on my next attempt. I tried to use Rampage to take out both tentacles but couldn't get Matilda to pull it off before the meter ran down.

Did they ever get the oroginal PS3 Bayonetta codes to work or did they just count on you going back to get a replacement code?
