    dtoiddisco PS3 FNF: August 17th I AM A WARRIOR

Welcome to the weekly Friday Night Fights planning thread. If you aren't familiar with Friday Night Fights, it's a Destructoid community event where members get together online each Friday to play games. This is where we make up the schedule. The final list will appear on the the PS3 FNF community blog and Destructoid front page on Friday. There is no approval process for players or hosts and everyone is welcome. If you want in, just read the instructions below and drop your info.

    • Keep yourself up to date on the schedule. The list here can change several times throughout the week.

    • Leave a message here with your PSN name and which games from the schedule you want to play. More people will play if other people are playing, so speak up.

    • Send a PSN friend request to the person hosting the game which includes a message with your Dtoid name. If you leave out who you are on the site, they might think you're just a random friend request and ignore you.

    To host:
    • If you want your game listed on the schedule, we need the game, the time, and your PSN ID. We need the specific game, not an abbreviation that applies to more than one; a start time, even if you're playing "all night"; and we need your PSN ID even if you think we know it already. If there is anything else, like lobby names, DLC requirements, or passwords, note that as well.

    • Don't worry about hosting the same game or hosting a game at the same time as someone else. Instead, think of it like a movie theater; more than one game can run at the same time.

    • Make sure you have at least an hour to play. That's only two or three matches of the average shooter and those go by pretty quick.

    • Check the comments, both here and on the blog when it goes up on Friday, to see if someone has said they'll play. You might have missed their PSN message or your friend list might be full.
So what did you all do with your weekend Hmm? I did this Warrior Dash thing. I'm pretty sure I ate some mountain and I know I'm scraping a bit off of me today too. But I finished, fucked up my ankle on the second to last obstacle, but I limped across the finish line to more applause than I've gotten for anything else in my life so fuck yeah. I'll post whatever pictures I can find on the blogpost this weekend if I have any, there should be a really good one of me diving into a shallow pool of muddy water for a quick swim, maybe if I'm feeling mean I'll post a picture of the 15 inch scrape on my right leg and the knee sized scrape that used to be my knee! BWA HA HA HA.

But seriously, let's play some video games so I don't have to think about the fact that I signed up to do a Tough Mudder next year and still need to train desperately harder for that one.

    All times Eastern.

My mom wanted me to do this with her, but we missed the deadline to sign up or something. Would have been awesome, and now I want to do it. THANKS CORNFLAKE.

It's awesome. One thing of note, train for hills. I can do 2.5-3 miles flat without too much trouble, but I was pretty much walking after the first 3/4 miles of uphill. And the downhill isn't something to sneeze at either. Mine was on a ski slope so I should have known better, still it's just awesome and I'm happy I did it.

Hills? I live in Florida. I haven't seen one in MONTHS. I suppose a treadmill set really high will compensate....

Hey dude, heads up. Don't use obscenities in thread titles as they show up on the front page. I'm guessing a mod will change it before too long.

My bad, didn't realize obscenities were frowned upon I'll keep it in the discussion bit in the future.

Maybe I will grace you all with my presence in Payday for old time's sake.

Oh who am I kidding -- one of you fucks will bump the glass again and fuck up my performance.

I'M SORRY! I didn't know the glass was that close when I was flailing about randomly.

So I may try to put my PS3 in the DMZ to see if that will fix the ABOMINATION that is my headset.

Hopefully that will be done by tonight, otherwise I'll have no one to yell at.
