    PS3 FNF: July 27th

Welcome to the weekly Friday Night Fights planning thread. If you aren't familiar with Friday Night Fights, it's a Destructoid community event where members get together online each Friday to play games. This is where we make up the schedule. The final list will appear on the the PS3 FNF community blog and Destructoid front page on Friday. There is no approval process for players or hosts and everyone is welcome. If you want in, just read the instructions below and drop your info.

    • Keep yourself up to date on the schedule. The list here can change several times throughout the week.

    • Leave a message here with your PSN name and which games from the schedule you want to play. More people will play if other people are playing, so speak up.

    • Send a PSN friend request to the person hosting the game which includes a message with your Dtoid name. If you leave out who you are on the site, they might think you're just a random friend request and ignore you.

    To host:
    • If you want your game listed on the schedule, we need the game, the time, and your PSN ID. We need the specific game, not an abbreviation that applies to more than one; a start time, even if you're playing "all night"; and we need your PSN ID even if you think we know it already. If there is anything else, like lobby names, DLC requirements, or passwords, note that as well.

    • Don't worry about hosting the same game or hosting a game at the same time as someone else. Instead, think of it like a movie theater; more than one game can run at the same time.

    • Make sure you have at least an hour to play. That's only two or three matches of the average shooter and those go by pretty quick.

    • Check the comments, both here and on the blog when it goes up on Friday, to see if someone has said they'll play. You might have missed their PSN message or your friend list might be full.
So much strikethrough, oh em gee! I'm going to be moving this coming weekend, so I don't know how much time I'll have for FNF, but I think I'll be fine if I don't stay up too late. I'm going, literally, across the street, one apartment to another.

Ok, more readably. There will probably be BlazBlue, Battlefield, and Space Marine, since that's what we've been playing lately. Hosting for those can get worked out as it will. More games are always welcome.

    All times Eastern.

Get 30 people to help you. Then moving won't take as long. It will be like ants clearing a tunnel.

I have been playing Amnesia with a coworker this past week, and we've been recording (or at least trying to) our playthrough and reactions, so until we finish the game, I don't know if that is what I will be doing for Friday or not.

I really need to get Space Marine, since you people seem to be obsessed with it. And no one likes Starhawk anymore

I still like it, but a match seems to be twice as long as one in Battlefield unless it's a complete steamrolling and they only get longer if people turn up the game settings. You play one or two, tops, and then it's time for the next game. That isn't even counting how long it takes to get people grouped up because they don't see their party invites.

And yes, get 40K: Space Dress Up

Space Marine 40K: The Unfathomable Infinite Stream of Big Burly Dudes in Absurdly Detailed Armor Which Took Far Too Long to Prepare and Really Still Isn't Done Because I Just Need to Tweak That One Stupid Little Color I Think Oh Wait This Other Color Might Be Better.

We Suggest Teleport Homers and Rapid Deployment for maximum fuckery.

Don't forget about the bus load of children. Those were good times.

Where can we see this Amensia playthrough?

Also, it's still free on PS+. I would pay for a couple months rather than buy the game outright, I dunno how much longer it'll be played.

I'm going to go ahead and host a game

    Game: Gotham City Imposters
    Time: 9:30pm
    Host: dare
    PSN: knackered

Right now we're still going through it, and I had issues with my webcam not recording us for the first level and the first half of the second, but it's working now, and the nightmares have crippled me. We haven't even SEEN the third monster, and I'm already seeing my demise in my dreams.

Why I decided to do this, I will never know.

Once I stitch the gameplay and the webcam feed together, I will let you all know

I have a suspicion we'll be playing Space Marine intermittently from now until it gets boring. And exterminatus is rarely boring at the very least. It gets better when we're hammered. In game and out of game.

And stops being boring once you take a break.

We still haven't finished any of the bonus rounds and people are not at max level, so there's always more reason to play it.

Update: Trev's gonna put the codes in the FNF Blog so if you want them check there when he updates with the blog! Sorry for the confusion.

Can I interest any of you gents in some DUST 514 Beta Access Codes? They're Good for whenever PSN gets back up until July 30th. If you're interested and I have you on my friends I'll message you on PSN. Only got 2 codes but first come first serve and all that jazz.

Edit: Also the codes are region specific. Only North, Central & South America need apply. Sorry
