Do You Have A Crazy Family?

Hey gang. So yesterday I had to go to a sudo family renunion yesterday. I love my parents and my family, but I can not stand being around them for more then a few hours or my head will explode. I"ve known all my life that my family is not what you would consider "normal" or "traditional". Some examples:

My dad is 18 years older then my mom.

My dad divorced his previous wife to marry my mom.

Oh and I grew up with my mom my dad, my dads ex wife and my half brother all in the same house.

And that is just the tip of the iceberg. So I was just curious if anyone else out there had a lets say unique family situation growing up? Or am I just weird with a weird family which is something I am quite used to by now.

Hah, wow, that is pretty weird. Weirdest thing about my situation was growing up was my parents being divorced but living in the same village, hella convenient though.

    Wow, that is pretty unusual!

I don't think my family are crazy at all; my parents met when my Mum was 16yrs old. My Dad moved over from Ireland at 18 and he ended up being my Grandad's lodger. They were married and expecting their first kid within a few years, then came me and finally my little sister. They're still very much happily married. The End.

Aw that's really sweet. what makes the situation even more awkward for my family was. Not only was my dad married when he met my mom he was also her law professor at the time. Also my mom was currently engaged. So yea they made all kinds of waves. But hey they just celebrated there 26th wedding anniversary on friday!

@spaceman my dad was my mom's husbands helicopter instructor...that's how my parents met. My mom then divorced him and married my dad sometime down the road because as she told me "why not he seemed like an ok guy and I figured I could always divorce him too". They've been married 30 years now though so I guess it worked out well lol

I don't have a crazy family because I don't have a family because I killed my family because they were obtuse.

The short answer is yes. The long answer can wait, because at the moment I'm not even drunk enough to think about that shit.

Hah wow that's pretty crazy, and not that far off of how my folks met. Yea my parents are stort of crazy but as my mom puts it she "has not gone off screaming into the night yet." So they seem ok.

That is a pretty awesome title you have there. I have cousins who have kids already I don't know if that makes me a weird uncle cousin or if I"m just a cousin removed or whatever.

I think the age gap between my parents is significantly higher, but I really don't remember.
My family is not all that crazy, that I know of, but family reunions never really happen. Partly due to my most of my relatives being on or just above the poverty line and we are scattered between where I live, Jersey, and Puerto Rico.

Another part being due to my immediate family not wanting to associate with others because of, well you can imagine. My hometown does not have as great a reputation as it used to.

Oh man I've never heard of someone who's parents had an older age difference. That's normally one of the things that surprises a lot of people when I tell them that.
