Went in and took as much nether rock and glowstone I could before almost dying.

Since I lost my bow it's been a bitch to make another one, spiders are not dropping strings. This game seems to horde the fuck out of what I want then give me tons of it just before I get ready to turn it off.

Last night I got on and stayed on til 4am.

Not tonight.

I have the day off tomorrow though, gonna start bulding a rail way.

Built a small house with a giant trench around it, then I "planted" a cactus straight up as high as the game would allow on the roof. It's above the clouds, but I'd have rather taken it higher if I could. I thought it would make finding my house easier, but there are so many hills and mountains that if I do any exploring I can still lose sight of it pretty quick. Also, Table made me a bunch of stuff. Then I went into Table's game and kept dying down a giant vertical cave that went waaaaaay down to the molten core. Found some cool shit down there, as well as a bunch of creepers and zombies and skeleton archers. A bunch of lava and crazy waterfalls. Took forever to dig my way back up and out by hand, Table eventually reached me halfway.

Last time I was on a Survival server, I found two small islands many kilometres away from spawn and made one into a castle and built a bridge across to the other one where I made a small village. It was safe. It was home.

This game is much more fun than I ever expected. Setting up safe havens with equipment stocks at the bases of caves to go exploring. Multiplayer is great as well. Building a giant staircase to reach a buddy in the deep catacombs and bring him out was fun, as was carving him out a safe haven in the side of a mountain in his world.

I'm tempted to build a glass tube and drop lava down it for a sort of lava lamp center piece effect.

As long as it is secure and nobody untrustworthy gets at it you'll be fine. Not like you're building it on a server though so it's safe, and am I right in thinking you get to make save game files in this version?

Yep. I have two worlds right now. "MeinKraft" and the tutorial world. Looks like I can at least a few more.

Well yeah but I get the impression you can load saves of them, from what people have said about recovering if somebody fucks up their world.

Now that I have a home base of operations I'm gonna go wild digging deep into the earth, I have to after seeing the cool shit deep down. After I've had my fill of spelunking for a bit I'll get to work on a larger, more impressive home.

I followed Monk into the Nether and he fells into lava with all his diamond shit. Told him I was cool if he wanted to exit out and restart his save and low and behold, his stuff was safe on his previous save.
