Oh that reminds me of my friend and I attempting to fulfill the circumstances that were supposed to show you Orchid's boobs in Killer Instinct on the SNES. There were no such boobs.

I also remember animalities talk in MK2, and they were officially added in MK3.
Nudalities however...there was a lot of buzz that they were hidden in MK3 and I remember reading a FAQ for the game (remember this was way before GameFAQs and even widespread internet access). The writer claimed he'd seen a couple of Nudalities happen, in very early arcade versions of the game. He conjectured they'd been removed from the final build or something. Worst of all was that the victim, in his experience, had always been Sheeva.

But of course the biggest fighting game urban myth had to be the Sheng Long april's fool prank.

oh ja, this was covered worldwide...those bastards!

i think it really is interesting that the desire to see game-characters naked seems to re-occur generationwise.
and it perfectly reflects the fetish-quality games can attain in the gamer's mind. polygons and pixels? about as sexy as a rough-hewn wooden idol (imo).

I remember the talk around the arcades shortly after Mortal Kombat became popular. People said that a new version of Street Fighter II came out with Fatalities, and that Guile's fatality had him pull out a handgun and shoot his opponent.

That would be the best version of SF II.

We used to tell kids that Raiden's eyes on the MKII cabinet had photosensors in them, and touching them both at the same time would do his secret fatality.

Essentially, that was stuff that they had intended to interact with the sequel, but for whatever reason that functionality was cut from the original N64 releases. It's there in the XBLA releases, but perhaps not to the extent that was originally intended.

Me and my friends used to try dozens of crazy and tiresome things in Pokemon blue and red to get a Mew like train a Pikachu to level 100 not teaching it any useful abilities while singing Macarena. Of course nothing worked … and then we just bought an Action Replay… and became the coolest kids in school. Oh 1999.
