Instead of being an organizational tool, they become the sole method of communication for the group and then no one new ever knows about anything. I told all the community leads this when I took over for Tactix but no one seemed to give a shit.

Tried, but people are stuck in their ways. That the forums haven't always been the most... inclusive in the past hasn't helped either. Best you can do is plan in the mailer and advertise it elsewhere to send people in that direction.
