Not until 2013.
Not until 2013.
Some parts of that E3 demo were brutal, like when Joel smashed that dude's face into the table, and the smashing-dudes-in-the-face-with-a-shotgun part. Real gritty, realistic violence. Coming along very nicely
Some people were complaining about there not being enough zombies in the last few trailers and demos. I for one hope the bulk of the game is killing humans.
I'm really digging the realistic violence and dog-eat-dog survival theme. As long as they come up with a plausible story to justify all that (without making it gratuitous like Uncharted) I'll be a fappy camper.
On GTTV, they talk about the plot and backstory a bit more.

Considering the gameplay, some kind of Manhunt/Splinter Cell multiplayer doesn't sound too bad.
If done right multiplayer/co-op could be great in a game like this. It would be nice to play a multiplayer game where everything wasn't focused on your k/d ratio.
I'm going to wait until they announce what type of multiplayer it is before I make my final judgement, but I have faith that Naughty Dog knows what they are doing.
some articles on extended closed-doors gameplay sessions.

they mostly played through the segment in the E3 demo, and it changes completely depending on what approach you take. Ellie's behaviour adapts to the situation and (I guess) also to your tendencies.
This all sounds really amazing. It's exactly the opposite of the "SCRIPTED" cries kids raised when they showed the demo.
I don't want this game to let me down.
I'm still blown away with what Naughty Dog can do with 256MB video RAM + 256MB system RAM - several megs for OS caching. Crazy detail.
Anyone concerned with linearity? I am really loving what I'm hearing, but I have the fear that if the game is going to a destination, it's going to feel very linear to get there.

That's one of my concerns as well. From what I've read, they're saying it's level-based (you leave locations permanently after reaching a certain goal) but less linear than Uncharted. What that means exactly, we have yet to see. I hope it's not just a straight line through groups of enemies.
The graphics are unbelievable. It looks better than Uncharted.
I have no problem with it being linear. It'll help keep the intended pace.
Anyway, judging from the video, that motel had a bunch of multiple routes to get the jump on the enemy, so I guess there'll be some experimentation with how you tackle each area. Manhunt and Splinter Cell are very similar in that regard.
Yeah, I really don't see any problems with linearity. The important thing is that it's fun to play.
New cinematic is pretty great. The camerawork is fucking brilliant.
Found it.

Ok I really want this game now and I can't have it because I don't have a PS3. The latest video was cool!!
This is the one I meant
Oh shit oh shit oh shit! I was worried about this feeling like a linear, set-piece driven Unchartered clone with zombies mod, but oh man, that trailer relieves that notion! It's not particularly survival if you're not seeking refuge and supplies, and seeing a 'shopping list' on a map makes me believe we're trying to bunker down in a seemingly open segment of the game long enough to find supplies to move on. Fuck yeah! Also, that girl seems like a bad ass.
