I do think they go hand in hand: no cupid no lovers.
If we get 15+, keep Cupid & Lovers in. Otherwise take them out.
It's too much to have going on against the villagers, especially when you throw in two "free kill "roles.
I love cupid, but if Dex is moderating and not playing there's really no point to having the role in play.
Keep cupid and the lovers. Makes the game more interesting and helps balance the teams.
I don't think it balances well with the low number of players we've had for the last few games. More often than not it's two Villagers, and it gives the Werewolves a free double-kill. With more players I'd consider it.
It gives the wolves a free double kill... and the wolves are still losing. Take that away and they'll super lose.
So, mostly moved into my new apartment. Mostly enough that this is "home" now. Feels good. But internet is up and working fine so I'm still down.
I don't like Cupid/Lovers with the smaller team numbers.

The lovers are fine as long as there is a Cupid and a Witch.
To be fair The witch last game (Bizarro) won it for the villagers as he avoided his own death with one potion and killed a wolf with the other.
The Witch can prevent a Werewolf attack one time, AND he learns that person was attacked (so he is probably a Villager), AND he can kill at will. It can swing the game two full days worth of events all at once. It's just too good for an 8 player game.
In that respect, I can see how it's balanced with Cupid, because that usually gives the Werewolves a bonus day worth of kills, but with both in play, it makes a short game even shorter, and any unfortunate enough to be plain Villagers have almost nothing to go off of for deduction's sake.
The quick games are nice because they are quick, but they are really all about the powers, and if you have none, you can hardly influence anything.
The Witch is insanely powerful. I still think if it's in the game it should get to use one potion or the other, not both.

Unless you got a plan to make everyone talk this time around the game has to revolve around powers as little deduction is to be had.
I look at it the other way. If we have fewer powers to rely on, then there should be more discussion, because talking is the best chance the Villagers have.
*should
We know who we're playing with, and only a little over half will actually say anything.
Less will make people talk, if the moderator takes no shit and zaps quiet players when needed we could have a decent game running.
