Hipster gamer: What games do you hate that others love?

Grand Theft Auto (All of them.)

Call me crazy, I just don't like to pretend kill people. I don't really like FPS' in general either. GTA just takes the killing to a much darker place for me. I played the first PS GTA when it came out. I was maybe five or six hours in when I realized I was beating people to death for no good reason. From that day on I just find the games super gross.

Not nessecarily hate, but I do dislike Skyrim. Everything about it was either bad, or entirely mediocre.

Madden series. I have 2013 but ONLY to appease my old roommate. I kinda like Ultimate Team but that because I can have Dan Marino throw to Jerry Rice or hand off to Barry Sanders. I absolutely hate playing it online as well. All Pro 2K8 and Blitz the League 2 are much more enjoyable. In fact I hate most sports games. Hate FIFA, any MLB game, and any basketball game thats not NBA Jam or Street. Havent tried any NHL titles since 95. Might give one of those a shot.

A few more I thought poorly of. Dead Space, Oblivion, Far Cry 2, and every RE after Code Veronica. Just not for me. Dead Space was ok but not nearly as good as the industry believes. Hated every second of Oblivion(cept for Patrick Stewart). Love Skyrim though. Couldnt get in to Far Cry 2, but I enjoyed 3. And I hated RE4, just so blah imo. Didnt touch 5 and the twenty mins. I played of 6 was more than enough.

Anything developed by Valve. We used to have long discussions over Doom 3 being better/worse than Half Life 2 (its much better).
I don't the see the appeal neither on the Pixar animation, or the stolen jokes from Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy found on Portal, much less the lame memes. The same goes for Borderlands, and humor games in general. How can someone prefer Monkey Island to 999 or Hotel Dusk?

Jokes aside, I laugh my hearth off with Suda51's games, Shadows Of The Damned in particular, along with Elite Beat Agents and Ouendan!... maybe weeaboo much. Anything else like those? Even if you hate them (so the thread doesn't derail).

However, with that one endcap you left, you have practically guaranteed that I will never seriously consider your point of view. I'm able to overlook a lot, but Snake Eater? Dude, if you can't be down with that, then I guess that's completely on you.

It just bored me to death. I loved one and liked two. I tried to like three. Havent played four. I want to play it but I dont have a ps3 anymore. Maybe my dad will let me use his. I might even give snake eater another go. Im more patient now than i was then. But I often have been told I have bad taste in games by friends and family. Gears of War is my favorite franchise so I get alot of heat for that too. Both of my brothers think Im crazy because I dont really care for Dead Space or playing any of the Call of Duty games online. Im finicky

I'm with that tap guy. LOL, Dota 2, or original Dota. My friends have all at one point played all three obsessively, and would always make me (using violence and ropes) play with them. I guess I always just thought they average but probably learnt to hate them because of the amount of games I sat through. And because I was bad.

Well, you did bring that one on yourself. Comparing Monkey Island to 999 is like comparing apples to oranges.

Pretty much feel the same way. I think it is a very lazy series in general.

I wouldn't say lazy, like they obviously go to a lot of effort to create these big cool looking, explorable worlds. But I don't find it very interesting. I feel they lack, I dunno, soul. Can't think of any story or characters I was remotely interested in. Fun for a little bit, but got tired quick (both Skyrim and Oblivion).

I did like Morrowind, but also I was quite young.
