Sweet, the expansion is essentially a Gold/GotY Edition! I'm not sure if includes the DLC packs, but it had the game, fixes, and a huge expansion. I'm definitely picking this up.

Reviewer says he loves that the new(ish) game is hard but says you shouldn't buy it because it's hard.

Fuck that noise. My lesbian midget sorceress with a lightning whip can handle it.

Joystiq confirmed that all previous dlc is included. I'll definitely be picking this up.

I like it as much as I liked the demo, but I'm glad I waited.

Also be careful if you own the original. There are reports on capcom-unity of game saves becoming corrupted in the process of transferring, so make backups.

I took a quick look at other reviews, and it seems that bad balancing was a complaint brought up by several sites, not just Kotaku. Polygon criticised it for that, for example.

Doesn't put me off though. I'm probably going to avoid the new content until a get further in the main story, and I play on easy mode anyway.

Does anyone know if you can transfer an Adventure Demo character into Dark Arisen?

I think the "balancing" issues came from game reviewers speed running the O.G. game to get their reviews in and then being underleveled for the expansion. To be fair, having the game suggest you be at least level 55 or whatever is a pretty big understatement. I was level 71 when I started the Dark Arisen stuff and it's challenging but hardly impossible. If you took your time and enjoyed the game, you should be fine. Just stock up heavily on status curing potions and whatnot.

From what I understand review copies were pre-loaded with high level characters. Can't remember the exact level, but they were supposed to be easily high enough to take on the new content.

Most reviewers suck ass at video games so you throw anything harder than Halo or CoD at them they shrivel up in a ball and then whine for 3 paragraphs.

"What's this? I have to think about my actions instead of charging headfirst into danger safeguarded by respawns that move me back ten feet? Game is shit! 7/10" - Every game reviewer ever
