    MAGFest X (2012)

It's still early, but I've been checking the site a lot, and I think they just put [link removed at the request of MAGFest] The hotel looks a bit more pricey this year, but also with more amenities. Who's going this year?!

EDIT: Apparently I stumbled upon a thing that wasn't meant to be seen and the registration site wasn't ready for any amount of traffic.

    EDIT EDIT: http://magfest.org

    GO!

YOU FOOL YOU RUINED EVERYTHING AND NOW THEY'RE GOING TO COMMIT YOU.

I should be there, fiddle in tow. And this time, I'm going to make sure we get jam space time to do something awesome. On another note, I would really prefer if someone else headed up the group pre-registration when the time rolls around, because I no longer have a regular income and won't have one until the beginning of 2013 at earliest. Everyone that did it last year is reliable (save for one guy), so you don't have to worry about being scammed.

So stay home and eat Betty Crocker cake with family or go to Magfest and celebrate your birthday with hundreds of rad bro's and ladybros who will give you a weekend you will never forget.

So I asked my mom if I could miss my birthday weekend to go hang out 22 hours away with a bunch of awesome people for a weekend and just do my birthday a week ahead of time... She said no and started explaining that it just wouldn't work if I did it any other weekend and that there was no way that it would happen. Things got quiet for a bit after that.

Then she started laughing and told me it was okay if I went and that we could just do my birthday before I left. She then reminded me that I'm 19 years old and don't have to ask permission to do things, followed by her offering to help me set up travel plans. I freaking love my mom.

So now I just gotta break the news to my dad. Oh, and find out if I'll have the $$ to go. x]

So it went from a no to a maybe for Magfest.

They are having it at the GAYLORD? The folks behind Magfest must be getting by pretty well.

Just a heads up for all of you guys going, start saving now. The Gaylord and EVERYTHING IN NATIONAL HARBOR is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. My company has an annual conference there and I know how much it costs to even book a conference date. It's insanely awesome and I love the place, but all the restaurants and even the damn coffee shop inside the hotel hurts the wallet. They have other restaurants to eat outside of the hotel, but even those places are beyond bonkers. Ya'll will love the hotel, though. It's like an indoor little village.

I highly recommend Grace's which is about a 5 minute walk from the Gaylord. It's an Asian Fusion place and it's absolutely gorgeous inside....but again, for 3 of us, the bill was over $150 not including tip. There is always Potbellys and Freshii.

ALSO, MOTHER FUCKING PEEPS STORE INSIDE THE HOTEL. WHAT WHAAAAT.
