I am excite.
The teaser trailer is stupid though, if you've played dead or alive 4, you've seen ryu's face.
How the hell are they gonna do multi-player though?

Wow...really? This thread has not ONE reply? I thought Ninja Gaiden had a pretty large following.
I'm totally ecstatic about this game since seeing the E3 footage this year. Hopefully with this sequel we'll get what was good about NG 1(difficult, but fair combat) and NG 2(buckets o' blood) in one package. NG Sigma 2 got rid of the cheap shots you were constantly hit with in 2, but sacrificed the blood shooting out after cutting an arm off for effing purple light.
The one thing I'm not sure I like is this new "zoom in on the gore" mechanic, because, while it looks cool, it seems like it would be hard to keep track of what's going on around you with the camera changing like that.
I'm also glad that you can actually throw kunai daggers again. I was pissed that you couldn't in Sigma 2. I mean, they were on your freakin' outfit, for crying out loud.
The camera angles ado seem like they'd get annoying, but the combat mechanics seem to still be very tight despite the changes. Sounds like ultimate charge spamming is out in favor of a dark arm gauge. People familiar with the series and advanced tactics said out still plays great, so I'm overall excited. I need to try NGS2 still; I'd get it for cheap by now, right? Wasn't a san of the screen tearing and slowdown in NG2.
Take almost all of the unfair attacks that you're getting raped by in 2 out, drastically reduce the number of enemies you face at a time, take most of the violence out, add extra characters and co-op, and you've got Sigma 2. Oh, and they also completely scrapped the stage where you're in the underground wormhole with all the insect enemies and giant eggs. I HATED that level. And you get to fight the Statue of Liberty, of course. And several other tweaks. Wow, I'm just now realizing how much Team Ninja changed it.
I don't get why people are getting so excited about this. This very game came out twenty years ago.
LOLOLOLOL.
Seriously though, it could be good. I'm a bit skeptical of this one. Looks like a lot of QTE. I'll wait for a review before I jump on it.
For some lucky press and/or other testers out there that have played beyond the major trade-show demos have
mentioned, most of the lame QTEs where the 'instructional' pieces to get players started, only in the first few
levels. Thankfully. I still think this game is a downgrade from what NG2/Black was/is though. As do most fans do
I believe. I am still somewhat interested in this game though---fuck, I hate that shit.
As long as there's no God of War-style QTE's, where killing a boss requires that you hit a random string of on-screen button presses, I can put up with tutorials. And I, for one, welcome the new exchange of Ultimate Techniques for the dark arm system. You can't spam it like with UT. Of course, I guess I can't have an opinion either way until I get my hands on it and see how it relates to other gameplay mechanics.
JoystiqDuring its pre-TGS event, Team Ninja lifted the veil (or mask) over Ninja Gaiden 3's competitive multiplayer mode. The mode will connect up to eight players in a sort of ninja tournament, in which the goal is to beat all the other ninjas, rank up and ultimately surpass Ryu Hayabusa. It's a "world of ninjas," as online engineer Ueda put it.
At the event, producer Yosuke Hayashi also introduced the new "play style system." In addition to the normal and hard difficulty levels, Ninja Gaiden 3 offers a choice of two "play styles," Ninja and Hero. Ninja is the familiar style of gameplay, but Hero adds things like auto-block and auto-dodge, to let new players just "enjoy the story." That is, the story of a blood-crazed, cursed ninja putting swords into people. This system is also being added to the Vita release of Ninja Gaiden Sigma.
Whoa, so 8 different people trying to kill each other at the same time? I'm loving that. I'm mostly loving not having to depend on a teammate to stay alive, like Sigma 2's "Team Missions".
Hey, hey! We've got a release date: March 20, 2012.
.......soon.

I loved NG 2 but I'm gonna hold back on this one and see what the reviews say.
It's confirmed that NG3 won't have dismemberment. I would like to find the gentleman/lady that decided this would be a good idea and slap them until my arm gave out. They're trying to give the combat a particular feel that they call "steel on bone". They want to convey the feeling that you're really killing somebody with a katana. Then they say "Hey, let's take out dismemberment", and the entire point of their combat style falls on it's face. If you were to kill a guy with a katana, and you had superhuman strength, you would take a limb off. You would decapitate them. Hell, you'd cut them into tiny pieces.
Also, there's this:
"Every time you kill another ninja, a photo of his wife and kids will fall out of his jacket. With his last bit of strength, he will reach for it, but die before he can see the faces of his family one last time." said Hayashi, "You can collect these blood stained photos in the game. Collecting them all gets you the 'Widows & Orphans' trophy!"
Make of that what you will.
I still want to know more about how the game plays. I haven't heard any additional info on the actual mechanics since people played the early builds last year. If the game has great combat, I won't mind so much that dismemberment was removed, but as of now, MGR:R is looking really awesome.
I loved NG2, but I started with that game. I was a n00b. I got burned pretty hard too. I earned the achievement for 100 deaths in just a few chapters.(Chapter 6 or 8) I thought it was fun. It was hard as fuck, but the only "unbalanced" aspects were the guys with launchers who never reloaded and had no regard for danger close, and Alexei/Zedonius beating the shit out of you and you can't do a thing. Not to mention having to face Genshin in Chapter 2 is ridiculous, considering he is one of the hardest bosses in the entire game.
I guess I'm looking forward to NG3, but I feel I hopped on the bandwagon a little late because I heard it's going to have to open up its doors or something.
PS Was anyone upset at the rick roll ending of NG2? YAY WE DEFEATED THE ARCH FIEND!!! YAYAY!!! WOOOOO wait....WTF GAH NOOOO!!!!!!
IGN's review of Ninja Gaiden 3: 3/10
After reading more than 4 different reviews and watching the video review from Dtoid, I want to cry. I want to slap what's-his-face that directed this horrendous slaughtering of what used to be an amazing series. I was counting down the days for this one, and it turns out to be shit. Fuck Team Ninja. They can suck it purple.
This is depressing... Huge NG fan and hate God Of War... almost seems like they tried to God of War my Ninja Gaiden game play wise. Boo. I'll buy the CE on the cheap later. Canceling my pick up today and moving to Dragon's Dogma.

I hate that it turned out this way, but the writing was on the wall without Itagaki, and then the news about no dismemberments.
Collecting dead dudes family photos is oddly hilarious but yah I had hoped for at least a good challenge but nope.
Makes me wonder if the difficulty could be bumped up to give me a challenge. But that still wouldn't cure there only being one weapon, or get rid of the QTE's. And I hope that "kunai climbing" gets mocked into the realm of horse armor.
