I've been waiting for a good quest/ dungeon crawler game since Hero Quest (from the 80's). I have heard nothing but good things about Decent 2nd edition and that it improves upon the original in almost every way. The old campaign was a bit over balanced in favor of the overload. I can't wait to get me copy.

Yeah, I got mine too, and I can't wait to play it. Just picked up the conversion kit as well for my Descent 1 set. Supposedly they have boss mini's coming out down the line too, which should be fun.

The Lieutenants miniatures are already on the product page, well some of them are. I think that is one of the few drawbacks of Second edition, having powerful characters represented by tokens isn't great.

Oh and the whole line of sight thing is weird. Oh and I want more monsters, it's weird that it comes with a group of goblin archers but there aren't any swarms of melee creatures, closet thing it has is zombies but that doesn't scratch the same itch.

Overall I think it's a pretty cool game and it looks like it could be easily support fan made campaigns and I'm willing to bet they will expand the shit out of it officially.

Aren't cave spiders melee swarms? I still haven't played it, just going off of what I've read.

I've seen some LOS examples that are totally wonky. Like, if the characters were standing in the center of their squares, they would have to have a shot that turns two corners, but it's still in line of sight. Thematically, I guess the characters are constantly moving around their squares, peeking out from corners, and they can hit other people as they are peeking too. Still, it's jarring.

In that example, where A is a Monster, B is a Hero, the black lines are walls, and the red area is an obstacle, the two figures still have LOS to each other. In fact, I believe that the only space that Hero B doesn't have LOS to is the space directly north of the obstacle. It's just not intuitive.
