Problem with Sony Vegas: "Failed to initialize script host"

When I open up Sony Vegas 9.0, it loads for a while and then an alert pops up saying "An error occurred starting Vegas Pro. Exception thrown by method called", and the details say "Failed to initialize script host". I've tried reinstalling Vegas and .NET, but I've had no luck so far. Anyone know how to fix this?

Note: These steps will remove any chains or presets you have saved, so if you need to back any of these up, go download this first: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/...aspx?dwnid=115

When you uninstalled, did you also uninstall EVERYTHING starting with "Sony" as well as Sonic Foundry? Also, you'll have to manually delete C:\whatever directory you installed into\Sony Setup, as well as delete the following registry keys under regedit:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonic Foundry
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sony Media Software
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sony Creative Software

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sonic Foundry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Media Software
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Creative Software

Restart your machine and then download the newest update for Vegas 9 here:
    http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/updates

Install from the downloaded update file and restart. I hope this works for you.
