Best movie of the year! 11/10.

Edit: A Uncharted review that summarizes my view point on the series better then I ever could.

That's probably going to be one of the more analytical reviews I'll read....well, I guess skim. I don't want to spoil a thing!

The Uncharted games follow a pretty linear path, which won't be for everyone, but it doesn't bother me too much. It's a movie-like experience and that's why I enjoy it I guess. You're going on Drake's adventure, not your own. You're just tagging along for the ride.

I doubt I'll get this game right away, probably hold off for a bit. That is unless I don't get a private invite to the Starhawk beta. Then they got my money

Well, I really don't mind the linearity, as long as it is a fun ride. I loved Uncharted 2, and, from what I've read so far, Uncharted 3 will be just as amazing as it was before. And with a better multiplayer.

But I admit that the game will probably follow the same formula of the previous ones, so if you didn't enjoy the game before, you probably won't now.

10/10 isn't a bad score... I'm certainly looking forward to playing it now!

I am so fucking pissed off it's not even funny.

I played the game last night for about an hour. It was awesome. I turned it off to eat some dinner. Once I finished, I turned my system back on. I got to the Naughty Dog splash screen. Then it goes to black. I sat waiting for about 10 minutes. Shut down my PS3 and tried again. Same results. I deleted all saves and profile data. My disc is brand new and all other games load and play fine.

Tried this about 15 times. Still doesn't load. Worst part is that this is being reported by many, many other users and across many PS3 models (both new and old).

I've been reading this forum looking for clues on any possible fixes.

Any other dtoiders having this issue??

I just finished this the other day, and I must say, the ending is fucking horrendous.

Mental patients could write a more coherent and enjoyable ending.

I got a chance to demo Uncharted: Golden Abyss on the Vita at the 3rd Street Promenade in Sana Monica. I'm sold on the Vita now because of it, there's not much difference between it and Uncharted 3 (except the smaller screen.) Anyone else get a chance to play it?

I finished the game over the weekend. A pretty good game, the last couple of chapters still devolve into endless combat, and overall Uncharted 2 was more enjoyable.

I can agree with you there mate.......the U series is awesome but in U2 you got better bonuses.....if you could change you costume and weapons in U3 then that would be the best.........I think:

    Uncharted:drakes fortune............best monsters
    Uncharted 2 among theives............best bonuses
    Uncharted 3 drakes deception...........best storyline

But I still have to agree with you there *thumbs up*

    ***spoilers***

    U3's story was incredibly disappointing.
It started off okay, but never gave you anything really worthwhile after the flashback chapter (which felt superficial as well).
After the halfway point it becomes a rehash of U2, almost shamelessly so. The way they handled Nate's relationship with Elena is ridiculous. Plus they just threw away one of the most interesting villains in the saga by basically refusing to give her any depth or turning the (marginal) buildup into a satisfying payoff.
At least Cutter was a fun character, and in fact they completely do away with him halfway through the game.

Story aside, it did have plenty of memorable moments.

I thought the hallucination scenes and the desert mirage stuff were bollocks.

I liked the desert stuff. Aside from being graphically impressive, it was a nice break from one of the craziest moments in the game (the plane crash). I found it a bit silly that after roaming the desert with no water for 2+ days he bumps into a group of enemies and just goes right back into slaughter mode as if he were in top physical condition.
U2 did a much better job of conveying Drake's pain when it mattered, and as a result the village bit in U2 is better than the desert bit in U3.

Yeah, I think that's true. Also, that whole section with the plane was really awesome.

U3's plot was basically people reminding each other of their relationships. It was well told, had some great dialogue (that bit with Sully at the end was great), but ultimately, I don't think it pushed any boundaries; just defined things we already knew - Nate's real treasure is his "family", Sully treating Nate like his own son, Nate being a protector of the McGuffins he seeks - and in some ways, a response to all those "sociopath" questions being bandied around.

I really enjoyed Uncharted 3 and all of the levels as well. I enjoyed Uncharted 2's story was better but the gameplay in Uncharted 3 was better but I felt like they should have explained more of Nate and Elana's story.

So does anybody else play this online?

    It's unforgivably brutal, but addictive.

Yeah dude, been playing the multiplayer for a while but I still suck! Currently level 24. The biggest problem is the matchmaking is pretty terrible - so often you are playing against a bunch of level 75ers and you stand no chance. If you want to do some Co-op campaign which is pretty much the safest way to level up, hit me up, PSN atomotron.
