    Tekken Tag 2

Tentatively scheduled for a Summer 2011 arcade release in Japan.

TEKKEN fans are in for a real treat as the order of releases for games will be:

    TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2
    Street Fighter X TEKKEN
    TEKKEN X Street Fighter
Today’s teaser trailer is in-game footage, not CG. It might look similar to TEKKEN 6, but the graphics engine has been tweaked/improved to support up to 4 characters on screen at once. The character models were redone from TEKKEN 6 moving onward to TTT2.

TTT2 will follow the same control scheme as the original Tekken Tag Tournament: One stick for movement and 5 action buttons. As seen in the teaser, there will be tag combos involving both characters tagging in and out-in succession to complete multi-hit combos/juggles. Walled stages remain and breakable walls/floors are still in the game. New mechanics and stage features will also be implemented. As seen in the trailer, there are some possible unique attacks depending on the character teams that are chosen (Ex. Jin & Asuka).

Several characters are featured in the trailer, but the character lineup will not be announced for some time.

Oh jesus, walled stages are still in. Instant failure.

I just hope that god awful rage bullshit is gone. It might be playable if it is.

I want this game inside me Loved TTT to death, still got my original copy even though my PS2 bricked forever ago. And hell, I've even enjoyed the last few ''bad'' Tekkens. TTT2 can't come soon enough.

Hmm...honestly? Not excited, like in the least bit.

A few years ago I would jumping up and down at this, but for some reason it almost feels like "Too little, too late" or something similar.

I already knew they'd make one.

    (T1, T2, T3, TTT. T4, T5, T6, TTT2).

And then damn, we also still have the SF X Tekken and Tekken X SF to play too!

Like Tekken Tag, this game exists as a side-story to the main Tekken plot.
The developer is making some key tweaks to combat to improve on what Tekken 6 contributed to the fighting game genre. In particular, Harada told us to "watch out for" floating mechanics.

meh, my enthusiasm for the Tekken series has been steadily waning over the last few years. I'm much more interested in seeing how TxSF turns out.

I'm surprised that there isn't more excitement for this game.

Anyway, the new gameplay additions so far are partner assists during in combos, changing characters via combo throws, and having your partner interrupt combo throws performed on you. Namco is also playing around with the idea of having your partner rescue you from juggles a limited number of times per round.

It looks like all of the playable characters from Tekken 6 are returning with a few modifications. Most notably Julia Chang is now the luchador that you see in the intro, and along with the new look comes a heavily modified moveset. For some reason Heihachi is now younger than he was in the original Tekken. Miguel and Yoshimitsu have completely new default costumes. And finally, everyone's face has been remodeled.

The new additions to the roster so far are Jun Kazama (with a modified moveset to differentiate her from Asuka), Jinpachi Mishima, True Ogre, and Devil Kazuya.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't wait for Tekken Tag 2 to come out and consume all of my free time.

Snoop gets a Shang Tsung-esque appearance in the background of a stage? That's pretty awesome, I'm on board with that.

What's up with (what I assume to be) young Heihachi? I haven't been following this at all.

Get hype. I just hope that rage shit from 6 is gone. Ultra's don't have shit on the cheapness of Rage mode.

3-4 hit combo in rage mode could take 100% of an opponents health.

That clip of Heihachi getting a Mario mushroom then stomping Kazuya was pretty funny... *_* (for WiiU).

So ... is anyone picking this up? I'm probably going to pass. There's too much other stuff competing for my attention, and Borderlands 2 is on the horizon.

Definitely getting it at a later date. Probably when it hits $30-40.

I'll wait until I know what the loading times are like.

Seriously, Tekken 6 just dies on its arse waiting for the thing to load.

The Rage system killed Tekken 6. And it looks like it's still in Tekken Tag, so I might put this one off even longer. There should be no reward for dying, and especially not one as over-powered as Rage was in T6.
