Posted this at Gamefaqs as well as this is fuggin annoying:

I have been getting, what sounds like a poor rip of an MP3 "skipping" sound while playing EDF....

5.1 surround sound and this awful skipping sounds come out of the front right speaker only, even when the game is pasued (only on levels with rockets/missles going off)
And before people say its the set up....It is EDF and EDF only. No other games do this and no movies do this, nothing else not even the PS3 menu, previews...etc just once you get ingame with EDF

It eventually goes away after 5 mins or so *after the missles stop blowing up* but is very, VERY annoying.

Does anyone else have this issue, or has experienced something similar? Do I have a bad "burn" of the game or something?

That sucks bro. But I'm going to guess that most of the people posting here(so far) bought it on 360. I haven't had any problems like this yet. If this is the only game that this happens on, then it is definitely a problem with your copy. Have you googled the problem to see if other people have it?

I did google it and found nothing at all.

I will see if I can swap my copy in but I am not even sure EB Games will have more PS3 copies....it's just soo horrilbe sounding. I paused the game and air dusted the carp out of everything, checked connection terminals...etc and nothing fixed it, then played another game and watched a movie with no issued, popped EDF in and bam, there is was again.

I got a response on Gamefaqs from, apparently, "Eric Peterson, President and CEO, Vicious Cycle".

Either way this guy gave me the correct answer to another question regarding the DLC.

"If you are playing the PS3 version, there is an audio patch coming. Just an FYI."

Eh, glad I passed. Sandlot is supposed to be working on a proper EDF sequel, so I'll just wait for that. Also I always have GDF to go play, which is balls fucking hard, but amazing.

Has anyone here beaten it on Inferno difficulty? I'm up to The Cube on Hard and honestly can't imagine it getting more brutal - 3 mantises, 2 bomber spiders and a legion each of advanced ants and exploding ticks :-/ I could use the Air Tortoise but that feels like cheating.

Nah, still working on level up the different armors. I've gotten to 2-2 on hard, and I think the battle armor is going to be my favorite. The Jet would be hands down if it wasn't such a pussy. Also, good luck with the air tortoise, you better hope it goes where you want cuz that 10 second reload is killer.

So if you turn the music off you don't get any horrible skipping sounds.

I really don't even notice that the music is gone either so, YAY!

Beat this on Normal the other night and immediately started up Hard with Occam and Chilly Billy. God damn is that a bitch. I can't imagine what Inferno is like.

I'm up to tier 5 on the Tactician (turret guy), and I think I'm gonna go with the Battle Armor guy next so I can play with some of those sexy gatling guns.

Such an awesome game. That last level was fucking epic.

Hard is tough as balls. My battle is at level 6 and he still has issues. Back to farming 1-1 on Inferno.

How many weapon drops are on 1-1? Is it just the one from that Small Hector?

Yeah, just the one. And sometimes none. I'm farming it for XP, because you can get 14-20k on it.
