Hope you have some co-op people locally, because it's gonna be close to 50 hours before you can even touch hard mode, much less inferno. But damn is it fun.
I think I have Hardest cleared on 2017, just Inferno left... which I doubt I'll ever pull off. This new one looks like slow boring ass compared to 2017, is there anything good about it?
Man I can't wait to pick this up. I have a gift card to a local mom and pop store that carries games, if they don't get it within' the next week I'll snag it at GameStop.

It's pretty fun(3 levels in), but it definitely doesn't have the charm of 2017.

It just seems a lot less campy. The voice acting sucks and not in the good way of 2017. The bugs immediately disappear, so no giant insect bodies lying around for amusing launches, no health leveling up system(that I can tell), and the colors are very drab. It's fun, and the new armor options are cool, but it just seems like they tried to bring a level of seriousness to the game and completely ignored that the ridiculousness(intentional or not) of 2017 made it great.
Also, I finished chapter 1, which only had 5 missions. From the chapter select screen, it only looks like there are 3 chapters. So if that ends up only being 15 levels, that's a huge drop-off from the 53 levels of 2017.
Ah, that blows. Well, at the end of the day, it's still a budget title at $40. I guess we can't get too upset, right? Although I really did enjoy shooting limp spider carcasses into the air over and over...
I guess you haven't gotten far enough to see yet, but I was wondering if there were any insane weapons or powerups to look forward to. I never got the Lysander Z or Genocide Gun or anything cool in the first game.

Yeah, I'm not sure what lies ahead, but the weapons so far have been very underwhelming. I don't know if that's because they're only 1st/2nd tier(you unlock more weapon tiers by leveling up the armor you're playing as, and you buy them with credits). I hope so, because the small Hector's and dropships take a ton of damage to destroy.
Also, Jet armor is the funnest for movement. Too bad it's so weak compared to the options of Heavy/Tactical. Don't get me wrong, in the end I think the game is still fun as hell and worth the money, it's just not as good as it's predecessor.
Never played 2017 so I can safely say that this was worth $40, having a blast!

I also forgot to mention that vehicles are actually usable now, and not just decorative death traps. And every building is not destroy-able like in 2017

Me and ZP finished the game tonight. It's only 15 levels, though some of the levels are really long. Still, you're always in the city, so there's no underground tunnels or beautiful mountainsides to fight on. Just the city. Now I've going to try out campaign remix and survival mode.
Yeah, I can't believe there were only fifteen missions. Nuts.
And I thought for sure that once we killed that queen ant towards the end we'd be able to go in the giant cave she crawled out of, but nope. All city, all the time. It's a fun game, but 2017 is superior in almost every way other than online play.
oh shit, dtoiders got that rose tinted glasses for 2017
Yep.

15 missions? God damn.
Finally played a bit last night. Beat the first four missions in co-op with Occam, and it was pretty fun. Still not as good as split-screen 2017, but I'll take it for $40.
Hopefully the horde mode holds up.
Damn, looks like I better get on this shit. Sounds like you guys are going to be done with it in a week.

Nah, I plan on leveling up all armors to max, which is going to take forever. Also, ZP you should try campaign with the bots turned off. Shit's hard for the other armors besides tactical. No one to shoot the ants off you while you try to plant a charge on an anthill.
