Anamanaguchi in Philadelphia 9/10

Hyperactive chip-punk band Anamanaguchi is coming to Sprinkle Kingdom (45th & Walnut) in Philly on Friday, September 10, and Dtoid Penn's putting together a field trip.

More details about the concert to come, including an official blog post in a day or two. Confirmed so far are myself, ArcticFox, Diverse, and DJKirsch, with Antwhan also possible.

Anamanaguchi is awesome. Come the hell out and see 'em!

Maybe now that PAX 2010 is over, some people will see this and come out this Friday! It should be a great time, and Anamanaguchi is totally rad! Looking forward to meeting some DToiders IN THE FLESH!

I'll be busing down to Philly and am putting my faith in the system and the network that is Dtoiders everywhere. Hoping i'll find some bros to spend the day/weekend with and catch the show with too.

There isn't a age requirement to get into the place right?

So, this thing keeps getting more awesome.

First off, the opening acts have been announced: Cheap Dinosaurs, Animal Style, and George & Jonathan will be making with the lo-fi goodness before Anamanaguchi.

Second, chiptune visualist enso is going to be painting the walls with a pixelated light show all night.

Third, according to enso's facebook, the whole thing is F'N FREE.

Still not sure of an age limit, but if it's a free show, it's likely there is none. I can't imagine a bar hosting a show without a charge.

I'll be trying to contact the venue tomorrow to get a better idea, but until then, be there by Friday, 7:00, at 45th and Walnut.

I guess i'll have to bone up on my tunes then! Man my first NARPish gathering... meeting other dtoiders in the flesh... this is gonna be so freakin awesome!

After doing some more research, the concert's basically a big house party. Good news is that it's donations only and there's no age limit. Bad news is there's an outside chance the fire marshal gets all up in Anamanaguchi's business again.

My advice? Let's meet there early- like 6:00 PM or so- and have a backup plan, just in case.

Def. go see Anamanaguchi...they rock hard!

I had a chance to see them in SF and it was an amazing experience. Also, the main guy, Pete, is a fan of Destructoid as it turns out, so you can always break the ice about that if you want.

It was awesome when at PAX, he recognized ME walking around the convention center, and struck up a conversation. <3 <3

Sorry I couldn't make it to anything other than the concert! Busy weekend for me. It was good meeting the people I did though! Tons of awesome music too...I hope we can all get together and do something as crazy-awesome as this again soon!
