Damn that's crazy. Dude must have been physically borderline to begin with. Makes me wonder what EPG looked like before her surgery.

Nah, if you say you've seen them, I believe you. Based on the pics here, I could've seen it going either way.

You know what? I don't think we've taken these concepts of transhumanism far enough!

Enjoy this photograph of Oscar Pistorius, the first double leg amputee ever to participate in the Olympic Games when he entered the men's 400 metres race.

Just look at him. He is beautiful. A milestone of human achievement. Now imagine what we can do when we finally get around to modifying the human brain.

I saw his first race. He did great and is definitely on the regular olympian tier. Not higher and not lower.

Also, some scientists went as far as to speculate human immortality as achievable in 30 years.*

They're asking the rich to donate to the project and guarantee a free installment of the enhancements when available. (I forget where I read this, but it was recent. I think it was Huffington Post.)

    Spoiler!

Eh, I'm more comfortable with a belief in reincarnation myself.

Think about it. Would you play a game forever as the same character, or would you rather come back to it as a different someone later on? Look at Skyrim for example. After 100 hours you've taken your guy as far as you'll want him to go. It's usually a lot more fun to carry your knowledge of the game over as a cat, woman, lizard person, whatever.

Same thing applies to past lives, as far as I can tell. People might not retain a conscious awareness of who they were previously, but they still have an unconscious understanding of how the game itself works. And really, would you want to know who you had been before? I don't. Knowing my luck, I was probably The Wickedest Man in The World or something.

Reminded me of the Lifetime show Drop Dead Diva. (...Shut up!)

Also, I play bass, and discovered some time ago that I was born on the death day of the most successful composer for the bass. He was also one of the most famous conductors of his time. I'm not so bad at conducting myself. [pops collar]

Hehe, never seen that show, so I'm not sure I catch the reference.

That's cool, what you say about the dates. It's an interesting coincidence. I don't think the "rules" are that literal however. I think it's more like...cosmic recycling, for lack of a better term.

When a soul goes out, it doesn't go out like a light going dark. It goes out like anyone else would, for drinks or for dinner, what have you. Should its original place of residence no longer exist, it simply moves into a new one. It's also possible that one soul could wind up being spilt into different bodies, or multiple people could come back as one man.

I don't think time is a literal factor either. A man could die and come back years later, after having spent time in some unspecified dimension. Or theoretically, seeing as how time is only a factor in our physical world, he could even come back before his death! Who knows how these things work.

I could just be making this shit up for all you know.

He wasted his money on surgery. Should've bought perfume instead. I'd have fucked him if he smelled nice.
