Oh hey, I forgot I was in the pc beta for this. I'm not gonna say this is a bad mmo, I've played much worse. It just didn't really offer anything that would keep me playing. It was fun for a week or two, but I've moved on and went ahead and canceled my pre-order. I hope Sony and DC didn't have super high expectations because this is never going beyond a very niche audience.

I think the game will do better than you expect. They're not trying to be the next WoW, they're trying to be the best Super-Hero MMO. There also might be more to the game than just the beta. The developers have hinted in the past that they're going to try to incorporate secret identities to the game which would be an interesting concept if done right.

I thought I would bring this thread back now that the game is out. How many of you got it? I got it and I think it is amazing. It doesnt feel like your classic MMO and I like that about it. Its more than just pressing a 5 button rotation. You really need to use strategy and combos in the way you fight. All in all I think its an amazing game.

I have this game and I'm looking for people to go through instances/raids with now that I've capped out one of my heroes to level 30. Anyone else got it?

Someone needs to sell me on this game. Those that are currently playing, why is it awesome?

Despite being a Sony pureist, I'm not going to be getting this on PS3, simply because £40 + Subscription is just too much.

However, if the PC version runs on Mac, then I'm gonna buy this shit fo sure.

Will be checking later, unless anyone knows?

I havent got it though so wait for some dude with the pc version to answer for definitive.

Bummer, looked into it last night and I'm pretty sure it's "No Mac Allowed" - I do have a PC, but i'll show you why I don't really game on it yet...

Because it has no comfort yet.
I need to link it to my TV (somehow) and get one of those controller to PC thingies.

Although i was looking for Mac compatibility on a couple of games last night so may have got myself muddled.

Thanks bro, it's pretty fucking sick. Looks dwarfed next to the 50" plasma though! LOL.

In fact, I've just moved it to it's very own table with a chair, so I may be able to start gaming on it properly now. Worry we won't use the touchscreen with it being at a desk though. Oh well.

I've been playing this on the PS3, I got into the PC Beta for this and I wasn't a fan of having to click to attack especially since the combat is in real time, you don't queue up your moves or abilities. My friend convinced me on the PS3 since the combat just felt better, and I'm really enjoying it so far my only gripe with the PS3 is the fact that getting a headset to work with this game can be really frustrating but otherwise it's a fun game.

I just got the game last night in the mail. Is anyone on Dtoid running a group on a certain server or anything before I start creating characters?

My brother has been bugging me to download this since he enjoys it and it's free-to-play, so I downloaded it on PSN and made a character last night. I didn't do much beyond that, I just got out of the intro and made it down to Earth. I'm guessing the game saves automatically? I dunno, there's no directions or anything, and no option to save my character's progress in the menus. I don't normally MMO, so I'm clueless as to how this is all supposed to work. I will say that I'd rather be in a Marvel game.

    Yeah.

Yeah it saves automatically. There is a log book in the menus that point you in the direction you need to go and what missions you need to do. Did you make a hero or villain?

I haven't played this game in months.

How did this game age? I played it for a very short time. And personally didn't how "sloppy" it was as an mmo. I'm not a picky gamer, but they made DCUO hard to play on w/o a HDtv. (atm i play on an "old" SDTV due to lack of work.) and the HUD is too small to see well, clips, and had issues with the text size. From game play... this didn't feel like an mmo. Its like it had no community (a must have for any mmo) and it felt like all the players were cramped in a small world with hero and villains having mission ontop of each other (made playing on pvp harder then it needed to be with max players ganking newbies) the cap at my time was 30 which was a 3 day (playing casualy) run. So how much did it change on the ps3? Been looking for a gane i can play till ffxiv hit ps3 since my ffxi account had to be turned off from lack of work. Reason i quit b4 was the HUD (aka UI) not being optimized for any version and the holiday events were late. Valintines day was after the fact. And St paddys day was near easter.

People still play it. I play it from time to time. A lot of griefers though on the PvP servers that go to the newb zones and just camp killing everyone. Other than that, it's well built for the controller. I had it initially on PC and still used a controller because the KB/M setup was God awful.

@Joe ya i started playing just doing the freebie stuff. The UI is still tiny(needs hdtv to see most anything) But i actually liked the combat cuz it wasn't AA (like every mmo) actually ffxiv didn't have AA till 2-3 mnths after launch. (and ppl complained about it being button mashy . which made me go lolwut? u ever play a game b4?) ei most games outside of ff are action rpg. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- but ya i used to play on pvp during beta. And one issue i had and reported was that ranged fighters could gank ppl @ their safe houses. and due to net loading can kill u so i was in a few death load loops. i recall some ppl actually held ingame protests and due to the game having big cc ppl would block ppl in the halls. not many ppl that i met/ read on their forums was big on mmorpg. and only played dcuo cuz of dc. most infact cried for F2P only. (which they got and i saw the cash shop. .... ya......)
