You mean as good as the first one? Yeah, it's pretty damn good. Campaign is the best out of all 3, Horde has been beefed up, and multiplayer is the best we're gonna get in the gears universe. Basically it's what Gears 2 should have been.

The egos this game builds are pretty funny. Not hard to be good at this game. Also not hard to be bad. The connection issues are still there, but they're not as bad as in Gears 2 or 1. Host advantage still happens, but it's not god-like anymore at least.

Still, the best part is the shit talking. The more we all play together, the angrier (not seriously, anyway) I feel everyone getting. It's fuckin' awesome.

I don't get mad when you kill me with it. I see how you move with it and it takes some skill to get in like you do. But when low-tier people bust me wide open with it, it's a little rage inducing. I should know better, but after a while I start getting salty about it lol.

You can't have host advantage when a server is hosting the match. They can be closer to the server than you giving them a better ping, but as far I know all hosting is done by dedicated servers except in horde and beast modes.

Nope. Some matches are hosted, especially in Quickmatch. The servers are there for ranked and quickmatch, but if they're full you may end up in a game with a host. I've seen the "host has left the session" and "could not connect to host" screens in Quick match a couple of times. On the forums Epic has mentioned this as an option if the servers are busy, but they try to keep it rare.

Word, I didn't take private matches into consideration. And granted I haven't put in as much time as many people here, but I haven't been in a quickmatch or ranked game that was hosted by a player. I feel Epic really did a great job with the amount of servers they provided.

No doubt they did a great job, but you'll notice the difference when you end up in a hosted room. Not near as bad as Gears 2 though and still playable.

After everybody got off Used and I played in a room where there was most definitely a host on quick match. His hammerburst was insane. Normally not a big deal, except that the tiniest noticable lag made it harder for us to hit him and we were essentially standing still for him.
