Hi. I'm new round here. Maybe we can be friends?

Let's get the formalities over with: I'm 16, live with my parents in Sunderland in the North East of the United KIngdom, just about finished Secondary School (High School?) and I've got some of my exams next week, i.e I've got maths tomorrow.

I've never really been part of a forum before, always preferred to be a lurker. But now I'm steppin' out of the shadows and into the bright green light that is Destructoid!

So yeah, I like to play video games and I like to read about video games - hence having Dtoid as my homepage.

Here's a kind of FAQ sort of thing for your reading pleasure:

1. How'd you get into gaming?
Well I first got into gaming when I first saw the Pokémon anime on Cartoon Network (those were the days...) which indoctrinated me into joining the still-strong army of Pokémon fans. And what does every self-respecting Pokémon fan need? A GameBoy to play the games on! I remember pestering my parents for long enough to offer me the choice between a cat and a GameBoy; obviously I chose the limited edition Pikachu GameBoy bundled with Gold and Silver - but it's okay cat lovers, I'm not a heartless cat hater - I got the cat too!

2. What are your favourites?
I'd have to say my five favourite games are: Pokémon Gold/Silver, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, Fallout 3, Mass Effect and Half Life 2. (There are even more, and I think that one of the Fables needs a mention, but I'm going to keep it at five.)

3. What are you playing now?
Well, I'm mostly playing Red Dead Redemption - which I bought only the other day - and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm also playing a little bit of Pokémon Soul Silver (I'm EV training my team, Jesus it's boring). That's all I've got time to play right now with my exams looming, but good God, when those exams are finished I'll have a whole three months to do whatever the hell I please.

So there you go. That's just about my life right now. I'd better get back to revising Nazis and Circles, so see ya'.
