Bike For Three!'s debut album, More Heart Than Brains, was probably my favorite hip-hop album of 2009. Buck 65 returned to form and JoŽlle's beats were fantastic. If you didn't give it a listen yet, you should. Even non-hiphop fans would love this album.

Also this is one of my favorite Edan track. A modern day old school song like you've never heard before.

And I got to give props Giant Panda. A group from the Bay Area(a hotbed for all things hip-hop), that often switches back and forth from Enlighs to Japanese lyrics.

Can't forget about this one. I first heard it in Jet Grind Radio, and so I've got major nostalgia goggles when I hear it.

Yes, I am a huge huge Aesop Rock fan pretty much anything he does, most people didn't like Felt 3 but I ate that up, his production is equally as amazing as his writing.

Atmosphere rocks, Slug and Ant are amazing.
You hear Pedagogue of Young Gods? That was off the Niggy physical release. Exact same music as this No One Ever Does, but Saul is doing more spoken word over top of it. Really excellent, I actually prefer it.

Proof that you don't need to necessarily be insightful with your lyrics, but still produce something amazing. No surprise, Danger Mouse produced it, but Jemini is a good MC. I love how dynamic his voice is.

Also, I'm going to post a gem of a song when I get to my desktop later today. As a hint, it was featured on destructoid a couple of years ago.

I miss that album. I got rid of it on my mp3 player because there were this occasional skips that drove me up the wall. Any chance it's still free off of adult swim?

I'm almost positive that, while there's no free version, you can find the remix album, which has 4 remixes and one new song, Korn Dogs. Korn Dogs is actually better than a lot of the songs off the original album.

That reminds me, give this Hall of Fame status please:

Whenever I'm asked to show the best of what hip-hop has to offer in the most obvious sense, I usually point to Rugged Man's verse on this. The argument is typically over by that point.

This album got me through high school when it released. I can't even count the number of times I've spinned this album. It's gotten to the point where i just can't listen to the song singles, I have to listen to the whole album in one shot. It just doesn't sound right to me if I don't.

And for something a little different, Hifana, one of my favorite producers.

    So I was listening to the latest Podtoid and Topher was asked what is favorite Wu-Tang song was and he responded with;

    The entirety of 36 chambers
and this is probably the truest answer I've ever heard for any groups ever.

Wu-Tang Clan best song is 1 hour 1 minute and 31 seconds long.

    I love you Topher <3

and to celebrate that here's Protect Ya Neck

Enter the Wu-Tang 36 Chambers is a masterpiece from top to bottom.

I'm severely disappointed by the lack of Hieroglyphics, Blackalicious and Atmosphere in this thread. These are some of the best emcees EVER.

Time for me to enlighten you fellas:

Del Tha Funkee Homosapien and Casual of the Hieroglyphics crew.

Pep Love, of the Hieroglyphics crew.

Souls of Mischief, Hieroglyphics crew (they also have a song called Cab Fare that went unreleased due to copyright issues with the beat, but is a classic):

And finally, the masterpiece from Hiero themselves:

Atmosphere, one part Slug, one part Ant.

And finally, the best rapper of all-time, despite what anyone will tell you or argue for/against:

BONUS CLIP: Alphabet Aerobics. Please, listen. I promise you'll enjoy it.
