The fact that it's a World Cup year means that it's one of the few times of the decade when I'm as interested in "football" as everyone else. I just like the good kind.

The only time Football matters is with Mutant League or when someone shows me a clip where someone gets hurt. And even then, its usually boring. They somehow make injuries boring.

I for one will be working that night anyway, so it doesn't matter. I'll be telling the super bowl to fuck itself by leveling up on my various video games.

Animal Planet has captured my interest with the amount of commercials for the Puppy Bowl they've been airing all weekend. Probably going to sit through it's first airing, then it's inevitable re-airing.

Looking forward to the kitty half-time show though.

You could always play Blood Bowl, it came out as a PC/PSP/DS title last year, and I believe it's hitting XBLA sometime soon if it hasn't yet.

It's where Mutant League came from really, though it's turn based. I think there is an action mode to it, but I'm not sure.

Sounds to me like you just interface with the wrong people if that's what happens everywhere you go. I like some sports and I love video games. Just because I don't follow any particular popular sporting event, doesn't mean I make stink about it and have to have something special for myself.

The thing I find funny is that (at least here on Destructoid) gamers have always been seen as these extremely open-minded people, and for the most part, we are. We don't tolerate sexual or racial bigotry, we're very respectful of pretty much everything for the most part, but for some reason the majority of you cannot rise above the "Sports is for closeted homophobes/retards/jocks" mentality.

I mean, maybe some of you were bullied by jocks when you were younger and you still have emotional scar tissue, I don't know, but to assert that sports, and football by association, is for the weak-minded masses of America, is extremely ignorant. Keeping up the "Eww, sports are for dumb people" is just as bad as the stereotype that videogames are for social outcasts and virgins.
