Well howdy folks, I'm Naet. I live in sunny California and I have been gaming for much too long.
At a young age, I was introduced to some of my father's favorite games from both the NES and SNES (Super Mario and all the classics). From there I expanded my gaming palate through... whatever method I could. After years of on and off gaming, I finally became a legit gamer, only after attending my first launch. Of the PS2. It wasn't something new to me, the gaming lifestyle, but I finally realized that it was something I wanted to stick with.
Gaming at a young age, contrary to popular belief, led me to be a pretty good student, but more importantly, led me to a love of writing. Starting with petty fan fics (I scare myself thinking about what I wrote) and evolving into some original stories and even some video game reviews, I began to realize what exactly I wanted to do with myself.
I realized the simple equation which would make up my life.
Unlike most people who wish to chase some crazy dream, I went with what would make me happy. Writing + gaming = video game journalism. It might be a bit hard to break into the industry, but I'm still dreaming.
Currently, I am writing for my school's newspaper, writing reviews and expanding my knowledge of the journalistic world.
And so all of that led me here. Destructoid.
I currently own a PS3, PSP and still own that PS2 which helped me realize what I want to do. I also own a gaming PC and have access to all other systems through friends and family. I find myself perusing most gaming sites these days, constantly checking out reviews and what's going on these days.
Let's see what happens.
Any response is welcome.
