New Game on an existing engine

Basically if you could make a new game using an already existing engine ie you can have a new character/story/location but the gameplay/HUD(for the most part/Technical stuff are like another existing game what would you like.

For me I always imagined if we could play as Aladdin in a mod for Assassin's Creed. The first one had everything except the big ass castle and an annoying parrot, a monkey and a blue genie.

Nobody should freak, Twilight Princess was a GCN port. And yeah, I'd love to see a new Zelda with all the bells and whistles that could be applied by today's standards.
