I've been playing and learning 3rd Strike legit. There's a group of guys I meet up with who all play 3S religiously. Also, have a good 7 or 8 people I can play 3S with online at almost any time. I really love the freedom of movement and pacing the game has. I want to learn Alex and Oro before too much longer, but going from knowing almost nothing to playing legit vets who've played since the game came out is tough, but I still manage to hold my own for the most part.

Also, the Kobe's game 'evolving' idea is pure bullshit, he's just finally passing the ball and he's never done that in his entire career so of course it's going to work. That'd be like Shaq raining 3's, of course it works for a couple of games, he's never done it before. The Lakers managed to win 3 games and all of a sudden niggas is like 'HERE COMES A CHAMPIONSHIP!'

So out of some of the best scorers ever, he's got the most assists? All that proves is he's had more help. John Stockton eclipses everyone, he's the measuring stick for passing, not Jordan or Wilt. That's not Kobe's game and maybe he showed flashes of it with Shaq, but because he wanted to shoot more and pass less he ran Shaq off to Miami, where Shaq won one without Kobe before Kobe did without Shaq.

As an unqualified critic I find 3S to be brutal but fair. It definitely takes time to even become competent, but the bullshit factor is very low imo.

If they put up the money, and all of it is legit, then good for them. Sucks SG and STwill be relegated to sidde tournaments but Melee deserves the spot.

I know, but I just really dislike the Smash community. I've had a lot of stupid shit to deal with when we used to run Smash tournaments at my old store. For every other tournament people were nice and people usually helped out or were at least listening and trying to move things quickly, but Smash was just fucking terrible. I know I'm judging a whole community by a minority, but fuck 'em.

I'm confident what you're saying is true Cataract, but even then they donated 90k to cancer research by themelves, just told SG and ST to hold dat shit when SG had support from the developers to gather funds and ST has that grown ass man funding from its players of old who now have a real life with kids and mortgages and shit. All Melee had was a community with nothing but themselves to fall back on.

I can't find the link now, but there was a website that had rewards for people who donated for Melee, rewards given out by top players of Melee. No one else really did that.

They really showed something here. Any game can get in if the people who enjoy it give enough of a fuck to get in there.





But who knows, maybe smash players got their mom's credit card and just fucked their credit all up and people's donations will be pulled out and claimed as fraud and it turns out the smash community was a piece of shit. Until then they're untouchable right now.

Damn, I can't choose between "Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R" or "Melty Blood Actress Again Current" for the Japanese-as-fuck-sounding Title Award.

I would watch a bit of Smash Bros. if there's some variety. I never really checked out the game, so I'd be interested in seeing some high-level players show off the characters. If it's "we're only using this one stage and no items and no fun stuff and we all pick the same character," then not so much.

Not really, two weeks into it and I feel pretty confident that I can at least win some of the time. The learning curve is steep, but once you learn the system the rest is trial and error. I recommend it because if nothing else, playing it will only shore up your execution. After awhile, inputting things starts to feel natural and winning in this game is much more satisfying than in IV.

There is bullshit in this game, but not nearly as much as in IV, which was solid in its own right but the slower pace kills it for me now. 3S is a man's fighter and absolutely fair. The only reason you have for not trying it is not wanting to get your ass beat over and over again. If you play this game, it will happen. There's no getting around that fact and if you wish to be successful in this game, you have to play better and better. I respect that more than IV's SRK or throw "50/50's."

Nah, son. I just don't have enough time to get competent at it. I moved at the beginning of last month out to a university, so I'm just trying to stay on top of classes and job hunt and all that shit. Also, I only got my PS3 with me, so it's either play on my laptop and GGPO or buy 3SO for the PS3.
