In relevant news, I'm heading an hour to a nearby city to play casuals with some people. Gonna bring a friend who's trying to get into the game. I really want him to try and start with Ryu to learn fundamentals, but he's stubborn and wants to stick with just playing Ibuki for now. :/

Meetup last night was awesome. Everyone was really chill, and the host started teaching my friend how to play Street Fighter better than I could teach him. Ended up going out with a few of the people to IHOP at 1 in the morning after we were done. Can't fucking wait to hang with them again. I did really well last night in terms of win/lose, but I'm still having a lot of trouble against Dee Jay. It's like a switch flips in my head when I fight him, and I just go full retard.

I've been playing and learning 3rd Strike legit. There's a group of guys I meet up with who all play 3S religiously. Also, have a good 7 or 8 people I can play 3S with online at almost any time. I really love the freedom of movement and pacing the game has. I want to learn Alex and Oro before too much longer, but going from knowing almost nothing to playing legit vets who've played since the game came out is tough, but I still manage to hold my own for the most part.

Also, the Kobe's game 'evolving' idea is pure bullshit, he's just finally passing the ball and he's never done that in his entire career so of course it's going to work. That'd be like Shaq raining 3's, of course it works for a couple of games, he's never done it before. The Lakers managed to win 3 games and all of a sudden niggas is like 'HERE COMES A CHAMPIONSHIP!'

So out of some of the best scorers ever, he's got the most assists? All that proves is he's had more help. John Stockton eclipses everyone, he's the measuring stick for passing, not Jordan or Wilt. That's not Kobe's game and maybe he showed flashes of it with Shaq, but because he wanted to shoot more and pass less he ran Shaq off to Miami, where Shaq won one without Kobe before Kobe did without Shaq.
