Saw The Master with my sister.
There was a supposedly "serious" and "dramatic" scene towards the end that had my sister and I cracking up.
I'd give it a 3 out of 5. Everything about it was great except for the dialogue.

I watched Halloween 5 earlier today and noticed in the credits there was a character called "fat sniper", and this got me thinking. Was this the role the actor went in auditioning for? Or was he auditioning for the role of "sniper", but the filmmakers liked him so much they rewrote the role for him? Was he a big guy already, or did he want the part so badly that he went all method and put on a bunch of weight for the role like Robert DeNiro in Raging Bull or Rob McElhenney in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia or some other guy named Rob(ert) in some other production?
I want to know this man's story.
I had the same reaction to the end of Paul Thomas Anderson's previous movie, There Will Be Blood(extremely dull, yet well-acted film btw). I couldn't help myself from cracking up at the whole "I drink your milkshake" bit and the cartoonish bowling pin murder.
I thoroughly enjoyed Looper, but thought that the inclusion ofadded an unnecessary, somewhat cheesy subplot to the film.Spoiler!I also felt like the film definitely dragged on a bit too long during theSpoiler!segment and found the ending to be somewhat anti-climactic given the amount of build-up over the course of the film. Gordon-Levitt, Willis and Daniels gave solid performances in their respective roles, however; Willis did a surprisingly good job of imitating Gordon-Levitt's mannerisms, body language and verbal diction, something that was most apparent during the scenes in which they shared screen time. Overall though, I loved the concept of the film: the criminalization of time travel, the loopers' paradoxically murderous yet mind-numbing daily grind (take out the drops, collect the silver, rinse, repeat). I also particularly liked how Looper worked through the protagonist's entire timeline via montage, giving the viewer a better sense of where his future self was coming from, what motivated him, what made him tickSpoiler!Further,Spoiler!Unfortunately, a few of the film's aforementioned components never quite came together for me, holding it a bit shy of classic status, imo.Spoiler!
OVERALL: 3/5

I hear great things about this film rendition of Coriolanus; I'll definitely have to give it a watch. Have you had the opportunity to see Julie Taymor's Titus, starring Anthony Hopkins? While unconventional in its mixing ancient and modern into a single surrealist experience, that shouldn't discourage you from watching this exceptional version of Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus. Anthony Hopkins gives a knockout performance as the titular Titus (that feast scene!), with other actors delivering solid performances across the board. I highly recommend it if you're a fan of Shakespeare's works, or Anthony Hopkins, more generally.
I watched Fido last night. It was the most adorable zombie movie I've ever seen.
Fido is amazing.
There Will Be Blood is boss. The last scene was both tragic and hilarious.
Watched the 1993 Three Muskateers.
It's funny seeing Charlie Sheen as the religious, moralistic one of the bunch.
I always liked that one as a kid, I wonder if I still would now.
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Killer was a fun romp with the undead.
Blade Runner Directors Cut
I expected WAY more from this movie based on what I had heard about it.
This is not the sci-fi legend I expected and would never watch it again, I was sick and it wasted my time, lol.
I have seen it twice now and I am just so indifferent to it, which surprises even me.
Ah, the infamous "I watched Blade Runner just once and expected everything on a plate. I was so sure I'd understand it on my first go, and I'd be the first, despite history saying otherwise..." comment.
Ah, the infamous "I patronise you for only having seen this film once and expect you missed something in it. I was so sure I'd understood it on my fiftieth go, and I'd be the penis, despite penis penis penis..." comment.
Good films make you watch them atleast seven times before you get what's happening.
Um I said I'd seen it twice. I never said I didn't get it. I said I was indifferent and just wasn't blown away. Not everyone likes the same stuff no matter how raved they are on a big scale or cult scale.
So I'm excited for a new Wright/Pegg/Frost movie. I just hope they leave this out of it:
Seriously. Not attractive. One strand away from full blown Progeria and a forehead you could screen Imax films off of. No thank you.
