    Tried to watch Planet 51...

Keyword here is "tried". I thought it was absolutely AWFUL, and I couldn't even finish it.

Alright, found your post Morty and I agree. Not a comedy, wish someone would have told me that before I started watching it but still, awkward, uncomfortable movie that doesn't quite veer where you keep thinking it will go.

I'll change my opinion on Hurt Locker. Horrible movie? No. Personally I couldn't stand it? Yes. All the little things in that movie, starting with the "this guy would never be in charge of peeling potatos with his attitude" lead character down to the "oh hai guize running through Iraq by myself lol" scene just threw me completely out of the movie to the point where it was nearly unwatchable for me.

Yes, because the Matrix was totally based off of reality. Thanks for stopping in Gats, I needed a good dose of patronizing because I'm not as good at recognizing things for what they are and need you to tell me what I should like based off of what you like or I'm stupid.

    tl;dr cool story, bro

I was talking about Religion with a Jehovah's witness (lol what a silly name) today for about two hours and I mentioned how The Matrix had so many references to biblical things.

No joke, my church youth group in high school watched that movie two or three times over one summer and discussed just that. It seemed pretty odd to me.

    Unfortunately.

One of my favorite movies. The Coens are brilliant.

    Precious

The part where she was seeing herself as a slim, blonde, white chick in her bedroom mirror... that shit upset me. Also, the Jamaican chick totally got my nads pumping, not to mention fine ass Miss Raine.

    The Theater.

This is a place to talk about anything having to relate to movies. We have threads to just give our opinion on ones we have watched, but that's about it. I know there's some major movie buffs out there, myself included, so let's get this show on the road.

I found these posters for the movie Kick-Ass and these posters alone have gotten me interested in this movie.

Also, fans of Chan-wook Park will enjoy this.

    In Bruges- 8/10
I did not know that Colin Farrell is actually a good actor when the material is up to snuff. Movie is dark and funny to boot.

There Will Be Blood - 10/10

Daniel Day Lewis is awesome and he plays such a great character in this film. It's the kind of film that left me not quite sure what to think of it and all I'm left with is appreciation of what I've just seen.

    Green Zone - 4/10

A movie that tries to be smarter than it actually is. Felt like I was watching 'The Bourne _____' but in Iraq and a different conspiracy. Predictable at about every turn and not very intense for a war film. Some good moments at the start and the chase scene was fairly good but apart from that...Not much going on.

I plan on seeing it, but I'm going into it with pretty low expectations.
