Add Death Race right in front of that list.
About to watch Equinox (1970) again before bed.
I remember reading about this movie in a movie monster book I checked out from my middle school library. It always sounded vaguely familiar, but it wasn't until the Criterion DVD came out a few years ago that I finally watched it again and realized that I'd seen it as a little kid on TV. It's full of great old school effects done on no budget. "Great" is subjective, because it all looks fake and at times like a Gumby cartoon, but it's got charm. I love it.

Ha! Somehow I'd not heard of that one. The entire film is up on Youtube if anyone wants to watch it for free. I just put it on my "watch later" list myself.![]()
You know what I found on YouTube?
Horror Express.
I fucking love that movie. Cushing and Lee fighting a demon and his zombie army on a train. Telly Savalas pops up later on, but it's all about the Brits.

Is that Hammer?
Nah, it's a Spanish production, but with Hammer actors.

Just added Horror Express and I'm watching Equinox now. Holy shit this film has the best special effects ever. I broke out laughing when I saw the giant...whatever that caveman thing is, it's in the poster (and about 1:05 in the film itself).
Cabin in the Woods. It's good!
Yep.
Yes it is. I'm watching the 2012 film Flight, not the worst film I've ever seen. It should have been called Drink though.
JJ Abrams to direct Star Wars VII? I'm down with that. I'd rather get more original work from him rather than hopping right from Trek to Wars, but he'll do a good job I'm sure.
He'll fit the material waaaaay better than Lucas did.![]()
Anybody would. But yeah the news excites me. It's still a weird feeling for me to be excited again for anything related to Star Wars. Abrams did an amazing job with Star Trek, if he can do half as good with Star Wars it'll still be parsecs ahead of the damn prequel trilogy.
Really curious right now. There haven't been any plot details released yet, have there?
None at all. It's only just been announced that he will direct, he's not that amazing.
Hm. By the sounds of it, they have the general story nailed down. Can't wait to find out where they're going with it.
There will likely be something handed down from the Fuhrer. Apparently Hamill, Ford, Fisher and Billy Dee Williams would be willing to reprise roles. As would a few prequel folk. As much as the original trilogy folk are the right age, if they're just shoehorned in it could suck so badly. If they were to appear, it would need to be like William Shatner's role in Fanboys (bad example maybe, or best example. Just a small appearance but important to events. Having anybody from the prequel trilogy would be bad in my opinion. Even if they are individually cool, they just taint whatever they come into contact with outside that trilogy. Like the Force ghosts at the end of Jedi. Urgh.
Apparently the only characters who should be in all the films are R2-D2 and C3PO. As annoying as they can be I'd be happy for that to be the case.
Just finished watching a delightfully bad 1980's horror movie called Leviathan. Basically it's the bastardized child of The Abyss, Aliens and IT. Pretty hilarious seeing the rag tag group get killed horribly by weird Fish People Blobs. The best part was taking guesses on who would die in what order. Pretty fun all around.
And Leviathan was the "good" one! You should check out the very similar but not as good Deep Star Six next, or whenever you get a chance.
