Going to watch CA in Imax, but I have no idea either. I like the exotic and spiritual concept, but I also hate relationship stuff with a passion.

Still really need to see Sinister.

    Skyfall was phenomenal.

The trailer they showed of This is 40 however looks dire.

Watched the new adaptation of Total Recall. I mostly enjoyed it, though there was a lot of protagonist bullet immunity and the physics during a certain mode of transport didn't make sense.

Yeah, and why those two countries in particular still existed, and nowhere else survived, didn't make a whole lot of sense. It was a tad gimmicky.

According to Moviebob on the Escapist, it's actually really good. Apparently a lot of the movie is about the sneaky and downright devious ways Lincoln tried to pass the 13th Amendment.

A few brief thoughts on Darabont's The Mist, after having watched it a second time:

Marcia Gay Harden getting shot is one of the high points of the film.
The big Cthulhu thing is the other one.
"Ironic" by Alanis Morissette should play over the end credits.

    S'about it. 7.25/10 I guess.

It's a pretty good film. Hated Harden's character but she played it well.

Yeah she was good. I can appreciate where they were going with the "man is the true monster" theme even if the execution was heavy-handed and unbelievable. I just don't see people freaking out in that particular direction, despite the circumstance. They'd probably get all weird and religious at some point, sure, but you'd think it would take more than forty-eight hours for human sacrifice to become a thing.

I kind of enjoyed seeing the guy from The Force Unleashed again though.

He should have been like, fuck you guys, I have a force push

I felt like ripping those people apart when they did what they did to him.

Did anybody in your theater leave? I've been hearing that's been a thing.

I had pretty much disconnected from it by that time. Up until then was good though. I liked the Andre Braugher parts because they made sense. Of course you're going to have at least one guy who doesn't believe the reality of what's taking place. Plus he had some kind of previous bad blood with Tom Jane's character. So all the elements there fit together in a believable fashion.

And then we got to the part where a bunch of good ol' boys killed a man in military uniform because God talked to a crazy lady, and I was like ehhh...somebody doesn't understand their redneck stereotypes very well. Religious authority and 'MURIKAH are pretty much equal for those guys.

Which reminds me of another thing -- wouldn't you want the soldier to carry the gun instead of the grocery store cashier? Yeah the cashier's a marksman, won some contests, that's great. But if we're going up against mutant bug monsters from beyond the veil, then I'd want that gun in the hands of someone who's had some level of military training.

The Mist or Cloud Atlas? I'd recommend the latter, definitely. Haven't seen it myself though. If you want to see The Mist it's been on SyFy a lot lately. Just saw it again about an hour or so ago.

The one you and Glooby are on about. The Mist. I've heard of Cloud Atlas and will definitely watch it sometime.

I'd suggest it, it's a good Stephen King film, when a lot of his stuff is laughable.
