Wreck it Ralph was better than I expected. It was about what I hoped it would be though. Was actually super impressed by the animated short at the beginning. it was cute. made me wanna find a lady and throw paper airplanes at her.

Just watched Green Mile for the first time. My face for the last 20ish minutes:


Seriously, Frank Darabont turned in career best work and Michael Clarke Duncan just owns that movie.

The ending is especially depressing considering the fact that Michael Clarke Duncan just died.

Anyway, yeah, great movie.

I watched The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and it was okay. It's pretty intense and really holds your attention. My only problem is, I find Daniel Craig so bland as an actor. Don't know why. He just doesn't really do much for me.

Watched The Descendants too. George Clooney is pretty good at just playing normal people I guess. I liked it.

Go watch Daniel Craig in Road to Perdition. He was great. I feel like everyone is just concerned with using him super stoicly since his mediocre Bond movies, though I haven't seen Fincher's Dragon Tattoo.

In line with that, I bought Road to Perdition on blu ray seemingly ages ago and finally got around to a re-watch.

Just as good as I remember, which is really, really, really good.

Yeah, Casino Royale is one of the best action flicks to come out in years. Quantum of Solace was awful, but it's sounding like Skyfall redeems the series.

And yeah, suppose Casino Royale was better than mediocre, but Craig's thuggish Bond still didn't quite sit well with me.

Credit where credit is due, he is good in Road to Perdition. Forgot that one. Feel like he plays a fairly minor role though.

My problem with Craig's Bond is that I find it hard to keep track of things. Quantum of Solace is particularly bad as it leaps around the globe for reasons I don't really remember but Casino Royale does it too so in my head, all of the Craig Bond films so far (haven't seen Skyfall) have just become one jumbled mess with no logical pattern. Something about chasing someone on a crane in Bolivia after a poker tournament in Haiti that leads to a big show down in a desert after sinking a building in Venice? It's been a while since I watched either though so I don't know.

I have the same issue, despite having seen Casino Royale at least twice since theatres. It stems from the manic, frenzied pace of the films, I think. Though the globe trotting escapist fantasy isn't new to the property by any means.

Craig played a supporting role in Perdition, but an important one and did it well. I forgot that was him at all who played that role given the types of roles he's been nestled into since.

Yeah, but the whole point was Bond was being groomed, and on a personal scale, refined. This was Bond before he was THE Bond, all raw materials and hating the idea that he went from being a Naval officer to a wetwork guy. He's thuggish, but for a good chunk of the movie, he's quite "soft" in terms of personality.
