I think he's just doing ensemble pics, mainly because they lighten the load. Judging from his next two films, he's basically doing Cop Land 2 and another team-up with Stallone.

    Classic Arnie ain't coming back.

Felt the same way. They didn't have the budget to up the ante all the way through, so it was basically "all talk, no trousers" until the end.

Get The Gringo - 9/10 it's so fucking good. I paid Zune price for it though. Can't not be ashamed of that shit. But seen it twice and it rules hard. It's Mel in from Payback pretty much. pinchi guero

I'm on my phone and haven't bothered looking up proper names, but his flick where he's a sheriff along the Mexican border, directed by I Saw the Devil dude sounds good. Is that the "Cop Land 2" type flick you were on about? Because while it's not classic Arnie, it doesn't seem as relatively low key as Cop Land.

I only watched the first 15 minutes or so because I was more tired than I thought so I just turned it off but I saw what you were talking about and genuinely laughed. The beginning is full of moments LIKE that but that one stood out.

I was amazed at how fucking bad someone can make a movie whose sequel was so fresh.
You're not implying that the first Ghost Rider movie was good are you? Because it's one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time. I went into this one fully knowing that (or will be when I restart later today).

Yeah, The Last Stand or something.

Actually, it sounds like a decent film - a sort-of-modern Western - but I think it would work better with an actor who isn't Arnie for the main role. Double Actually, you're right, the more I read about it, the more it sounds like Walking Tall than Cop Land.

Yeah, I agree about it seeming better suited to a better actor. I love Arnold for what he does, but this sounds out of his realm. He might surprise though.

Watching DYNASTY WARRIORS:THE MOVIE Red Cliff and having nerdgasms everytime my favorite characters show up. I know it won't happen because the movie seems to be more faithful to the real history and not the fantasy, but I'm hoping somewhere in the film someone busts out a Musou after eating a meat bun.

Maybe like a Jean Claude Van Damme in JCVD? Which I still haven't seen yet, but I hear is good.

Get Low just came in from Netflix so I finally get to watch it after skipping it in theatres and waiting like two years for it to come to Instant, which it never did. Good thing we've been paying for mail rental service that we hadn't used since October.

Also, Jiro Dreams of Sushi was supposed to go instant, but isn't. Sads.

After seeing the image Stevil posted...yeah.

It does have Forest Whitaker, Harry Dean Stanton and Peter Storemare, though. That image just happens to make it looks like the worst thing.

@Used: Hopefully the International release, not the chopped up US release? I have it on blu-ray. Stunning visuals and great fun.

It's the one on Instant, which says Theatrical Release. So I'm not sure, but considering some of the narration is in English I imagine it's the US release.

    ):

International version is an almost 5 hour movie split into two parts. Pretty "epic," though I deign to use the word.

I know there is a Red Cliff 2, is that supposed to be the second part or is it a sequel to the 5hour Red Cliff?

It's a great film. I like Van Damme's stuff, no matter how trashy. His later movies are a guilty pleasure for me, but for a genuine "anybody can watch this and not make excuses" Van Damme movie, JCVD is one to watch. It's not an action movie, despite what the trailer suggests. Man, I nearly cried during his speech to the audience.

Then he pissed all that goodwill up the wall. But that's another story for another day.

I watched that myself just last night. Had much the same reaction.

Really want to see the full thing now, as the theatrical cut seemed to overlook some stuff from the novels/history.

Just finished Dark Knight Rises. It's a good movie in general but there are some weird jumps in time that aren't explained ever. Not as good of a finish as DK, but it is extremely hard to top that movie.

    Actually i have a huge superhero/comic bias.
so yes, i found Ghost Rider a fine popcorn movie.
Same goes for the much boo'ed Green Lantern & Cap America.
