Besides them making Billy Mitchell look bad on purpose, I liked him anyway. Dude didn't take shit from some pasty pussy who sat in his garage all day whining about vidya games. Nigga just showed up and took home the prize, just like real life. Billy Mitchell represents the one facet of life you nerds try to escape, and that's the bad(ass) guy will always win because he's not a pussy. And that's why you hate him, because you're only good at video games while he's good at the real thing, the game of life. Bitches.
They certainly villified him, though only a bit. He IS a cocky son of a bitch but he can back it up so who the fuck cares? Yeah he talks shit, and then he proceeds to be amazing at everything he claims to be amazing at.

If I recall even Steve Weibe was surprised at how much they edited the film to make Billy look like a bigger dick than he is. The scene where they're at the restaurant and Billy supposedly ignores him and then comes up later? It leaves out the part where they were eating together for awhile and how Billy approached him right away.

You'd think these nerds would've learned after playing God of war 1 and 2 that the beasts of the world will win everytime. No matter how many reddit points you have or how many people like you on a forum.

Dark Knight rises soundtrack - 1/15 Only liked the Gotham's Reckoning track, everything else is just the BB and TDK's music remixed.

No it's not a brilliant film, but it's still a classic action movie with many great scenes.

Though I've always been annoyed by how Richter's men don't kill each other when they're shooting through Quaid's hologram towards the end. It's like their bullets disappear.

Also regarding the three breasted lady; The remake's one had a purdier face so she wins.

And Dirk Benedict is hella manly.

    >pussified

Keep telling yourself that. I don't follow the guy but I sure as hell appreciated him for doing what he said he was going to do and not whine like a bitch like Weibe. I can see why some people would definitely hate someone who says they're going to be successful and actually does it because it's the exact opposite of themselves. No smiley face needed, at nothing passive about this aggression sweet tits.

    Definitely.

They should remake more old action movies. They should do Commando but make the ONLY change be setting it in the present day. It would be 10 minutes long with the dudes calling as soon as ahnuld attacks them at the airport. The entire plot of that movies works because no cell phones.

Going to watch The Hunger Games later today. Gonna try to ignore the hilariously stupid names everybody seems to have.

I realize the sarcasm, but just to be clear everybody needs to stop trying to remake or recast Arnold movies. Just stop. You can't emulate or imitate or even better his roles. The guy shouldn't have worked as a movie star, but somehow it just all clicked. God bless the '80s.

Those films are artifacts, should be preserved not reused.

I've said the same thing pages back. Just stop, you can't find anyone that has his screen presence and what he brought to those films. Ever.

Next they'll start remaking Eastwood films with Micheal Cera/Jesse Eisenhower.

    ...

I would totally watch the Dollars trilogy with Micheal Cera in Eastwood's spot, Jonah Hill as Tuco and Seth Rogen replacing Lee van Cleef.

Just because of how awkward it would be.

Yeah, I think you're right there, though I'm not against remakes in general. My main problem with most of these remakes is that none of them seem to add anything, they're just modernised takes on the original with the odd nod to the original for fan service.

Yeah, I'm not against remakes in general either, some of them better their originals and more at least stand as equals, but it's the pointless and lazy ones that always bog everything down. Like the Friday the 13th remake, there was no reason for it to be a remake. It could easily have been another one in the series, it did nothing new. It just retread the same origins everybody knows and then jumped ahead to hockey mask Jason killing "kids" at the lake. Why make it a remake?

On the flip side, I personally enjoyed the Hills Have Eyes and Dawn of the Dead remakes. Hills outshined it's predecessor, and Dawn took a different approach than the original and did it's own thing that I dug. I still like the originals a lot, but the redos are great too. King Kong was a solid remake too, not just because of the advanced effects, but it certainly helped.

Also, I don't consider Carpenter's The Thing a remake of The Thing From Another World. When you're going and making movies based on books, which they both did, it's just another adaptation of the same source material. Unfortunately Total Recall can claim it was based on the Philip K. Dick story, it's not. Every facet of it is based on the Arnie flick, there's no question about it. From the characters to the storyline to the title, there's nothing making it any more We Can Remember It For You Wholesale than the original Recall. Recall is a remake, The Thing is another adaptation.

Not sure if you're serious but 'Second Variety' is a nice collection of short stories he did, reading it atm. The titular story was the basis for Screamers with Peter Weller.
